Joe Walsh will join Chesney on the road for his Flip Flop Summer Tour beginning next month.

Country star Kenny Chesney has invited former Eagles star Joe Walsh to join his touring band.

The singer/songwriter will join Chesney on the road for his Flip Flop Summer Tour beginning in Las Vegas next month.

Chesney says, "Getting him to come out here with us is gonna be a total blast because nobody's lived the life quite like him and absolutely nobody plays guitar like he does."

Just the facts: in 2006 he sold more tickets than anyone at 1.13 million total and grossed over $60 million in sales of tickets alone: I think that put him about 5th or 6th highest grossing.

Just sayin... might be a good move for an old Eagle ;)

More like a Hillbilly Rockstar...

Living in Fast Forward

by Kenny Chesney

The body's a temple and that's what we're taught

Well, I treated this one like an ole honky tonk

Greasy cheeseburgers and cheap ciagarettes

One day they'll get me if they ain't got me yet.

Because I've been living in fast forward

Hillbilly rockstar out of control

I've been living in fast forward

Now I need to rewind real slow.

My friends all grew up, and they settled down

Built nice little houses on the outskirts of town

They work in their office, and drive SUV's

They pray for their babies, and they worry about me.

Because I've been living in fast forward

Hillbilly rockstar out of control

I've been living in fast forward

Now I need to rewind real slow.

I'm always runnin'

Son-of-a-gunnin'

I've had a good time it's true

But the way I've been going

It's time that I tone it down just a notch or two.

Oh yeah...

Well, I've been living in fast forward

Hillbilly rockstar out of control

I've been living in fast forward

Now I need to rewind real slow.

Yeah, I've been living in fast forward

Hillbilly rockstar out of control

I've been living in fast forward

Now I need to rewind real slow.

Yeah, I need to rewind real slow.

Yeah, I still got some miles to go...

One of my favorite KC songs (off to look and see if I have it on this computer...)

Looking back now, well it makes me laugh

We were growin our hair, we were cuttin' class

Knew it all already, there was nothing to learn

We were strikin' matches just to watch 'em burn

Listen to our music just a little too loud

We were hangin' in there with the outcast crowd

Headin' to the rapids with some discount beer

It was a long train tussle but we had no fear.

Man I don't know, where the time goes

But It sure goes fast, just like that

We were wanna be rebels who didn't have a clue

With our rock n' roll T-shirts, and our typically bad attitudes

Had no excuses for the things that we'd done

We were brave, we were crazy, we were mostly

Young

Talked a good game when we were out with the guys

But in the back seat we were awkward and shy

Girls were a mystery that we couldn't explain

And I guess there are some things that are never gonna change

Man I don't know, where the time goes

But It sure goes fast, just like that

We were wanna be rebels who didn't have a clue

With our rock n' roll T-shirts, and our typically bad attitudes

Had no excuses for the things that we'd done

We were brave, we were crazy, we were mostly

Young

Young, Young, Yeah Wishin' we were older

Young, Hey I wish it wasn't over

Man I don't know, where the time goes

But It sure goes fast, just like that

We were wanna be rebels who didn't have a clue

With our Rock n' roll T-shirts, and our typically bad attitudes

Had no excuses for the things that we'd done

We were brave, we were crazy, we were mostly

Young

Young, Hey wishin' we were older, wish it wasn't over

There's a sucker born every minute.

P.T. Barnum (1810 - 91)

(Apologies to KC fans, I couldn't resist)

I really like this song, but the one line that I have bolded makes me grit my teeth whenever I hear it. Why couldn't he have said "with you" instead? It wouldn't sound like rape then.

Anything But Mine

Walking alone beneath the lights of that miracle mile,

Me and Mary making our way into the night,

You can hear the cries from the carnival rides,

The pinball bills, skee ball slides,

Watching the summer sun fall out of sight,

There’s a warm wind coming in from off of the ocean

Making its way past the hotel wall to fill the streets

Mary is holding both of her shoes in her hands

Said she likes to feel the sand beneath her feet

And in the morning I’m leaving, making my way back to Cleveland

So tonight I hope that I will do just fine

And I don't see how you could ever be anything but mine

There’s a local band playing at the sea side pavilion

And I got just enough cash to get us in

And as we are dancing Mary’s wrapping her arms around me

And I can feel the sting of summer on my skin

In the midst of the music I tell her I love her,

We both laugh cause we know it isn’t true

But Mary there's a summer drawing to an end tonight

And there's so much that I long to do to you

And in the morning I’m leaving, making my way back to Cleveland

So tonight I hope that I will do just fine

And I don’t see how you could ever be anything but mine

Ooooooooo..

And in the morning I’m leaving, making my way back to Cleveland

So tonight I hope that I will do just fine

And I don’t see how you could ever be anything but mine

Mary I don't see how you could ever be anything but mine

Ooooooooooo...ooooooooooooooo...

...And in the morning I’m leaving, making my way back to Cleveland

So tonight I hope that I will do just fine

Hey, I don’t see how you could ever be anything but mine

Wouldn't be rape if Mary was a willing participant :) (And he can do whatever he wants to me, BTW ;) )

And if you ever get the chance to ask him about that line, can I be in on the conference call?
