CanAm
1. Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) - Edison Lighthouse Link 2. Signs - Five Man Electrical Band. IMO, one of the best, if largely unheralded, Canadian bands. I couldn't find a decent video of this song on YouTube.
OLD 55
Well I have 12 on my list already. Let's have some more good nominations to try to displace some of those.
Lucky
Well this is silly. There are 16 nominations that I could concievably have on my list. I've got to listen to these and whittle down...
Shawna
in honor of my recent interview with Charlie Daniels: 1. The Devil Went Down To Georgia ~ Charlie Daniels and with Scotty Emerick: 2. The Taliban Song ~ Toby Keith (Scotty's the one singing onstage with him) (This video SUCKS, but the lyrics are hysterical) The Taliban Song I'm just a middle-aged middle-eastern camel-herdin' man I got a little two-bedroom cave here in North Afghanistan Things used to be real nice and they got out of hand Since they moved in They call themselves the Taliban Oooh, oooh yeah the Taliban, baby Now I ain't seen my wife's face since they came here They make her wear a scarf over her head That covers her from ear to ear She loves the desert and the hot white sand But man she's just like me No she can't stand the Taliban Oooh, oooh the Taliban, baby But you know someday soon we're both gonna saddle up And it'll be ride camel ride My old lady she'll be here with me Just smilin' right by my side We should do just fine out around Palestine Or maybe Turkmenistan We'll bid a fair adieu and flip the finger to The Taliban I know where you're coming from brother. This is a patriotic love song, so ya'll feel free to salute if you want to, I'll give you permission Now they attacked New York City 'Cause they thought they could win Said they would stand and fight until the very bloody end Mr. Bush got on the phone with Iraq and Iran and said Now you sons-of-b*tches you better not be doing any business with that Taliban So we prayed to Allah with all of our might Until those big U.S. jets came flying in one night And they dropped little bombs all over their holy land Man you should have seen them run like rabbits they ran The Taliban But you know someday soon we're both gonna saddle up And it'll be ride camel ride My old lady she'll be here with me Just smilin' right by my side We should do just fine out around Palestine Or maybe Turkmenistan We'll bid a fair adieu and flip a couple fingers to The Taliban And we'll bid a fair adieu and give a big bone or two to The Taliban Taliban

blind-fitter
The trouble is, no matter how much we youngsters try to modernise the Top 10, there's always a load of stick-in-the-muds digging their heels in....
Farin
*sigh* you don't need to tell me... I'll probably have to do the usual - fill it up with songs that are "okay, but not that great "

Jenny
I'm on the fence between stick in the mud and modern, I guess. There is a lot of older stuff I like and I may choose it over other stuff because it's so familiar to me. I also try to give newer stuff and stuff I haven't heard a shot. I likely won't nominate it on my first listen, but at least I've heard it. B-F introduced me to Amy Winehouse, Mags' Ray LaMontagne nomination got me into him.....Some of bazooka's nominations remind me of why I like some old stuff....the more I hear, the more I learn. Maybe my musical taste will improve because of this.....NAH! I still like my cheesy '80's.

edna
I think there´s plenty of good songs. From the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. It might not be a great Top Ten for me but still it´s a great way to know about some new stuff I wouldn´t hear at home...

She's very eloquent and thinks what I'm thinking. She's also much more reasonable and less obnoxious than I am.
Jenny
Thanks a lot, Peaches, but trust me, it takes me twenty minutes of thinking, writing and re-writing to be eloquent sometimes. Also, do you offer obnoxious lessons? I could use some sometimes.
Tenacious_Peaches
I understand, Jenny. I usually just fire off whatever is in my head at the time. That's lesson one in my 57 part obnoxious plan. That will be $249, please.
