Sweet Jane 61
The Search On the street you see it in their faces, the longing for love... Seeking answers, some pray to the heavens above. Broken hearts, empty souls; surviving on faith, clinging to hope... Some are strong, others unable to cope. Each one searching for love, needing to believe... Searching for love, just like you, exactly like me.
Rayzor
Wow... girl you really know how to touch the soul of a reader. Every word was a memory of feelings past and a warning of feelings to come. *applause, applause*
Shawna
wow, Jane... in just a few words, you spoke volumes. It's a very desolate atmosphere you paint... concise and eloquent. Well done.
Sweet Jane 61
Thanks Rayzor and Shawna, you comments are greatly appreciated. I started that poem 6 years ago and was able to finish it last week. Funny how you can put something aside and come back to it and find what you need to complete it. blind-fitter
6 years to write a 6-line poem??? And my boss thinks I need a rocket up my arse....
Sweet Jane 61
Don't think the rocket would have helped me b-f, it was just something I put away and found it again this past week. I have several poems that are not finished. It happens mainly because what may have inspired them has changed.
Rayzor
I've had some writings that took months to complete, and I've also written songs for my band within a half hour! I attribute this to either being on a "creative roll" or just getting "writers block"
Shawna
I've also had some things that just come to me right away, and go so smoothly to paper that they don't require another minute's concentration. On the flip side, I've got two pieces in particular that have given me fits since I wrote them, one in '96 and one around '98 or so. Every time I dust them off and read them, I change at least one word, and I'm still not satisfied. They are, however, two of the poems I'm most proud of.
