edna
I´m googling and cannot find anything. I guess it should be old songs from WWII... I don´t remember rock songs about nazis or fascists, unless you mean popular Italian or German songs... or Dylan/Cohen songs where they mention that ("With God on our side", "Field Commander Cohen") Don´t worry, someone will come to the rescue... Tybalt
I'm looking for some songs on stuff like Nazis. Mostly about how evrybody turns mindless and such. The song Tomorrow Belongs To Me is used in a chilling sequence in the film version of the musical Cabaret (1972). Sadly, the only current English-language video on YouTube is provided by a hateful and ignorant white supremacist.
Uncle Joe
The Mitchell Trio's, "The I Was Not A Nazi Polka". Here's just a snippet....(The song was written circa 1965). (As you travel through Deschunne(sp?) Deutchland A melody will greet your ears It's a melody that's been around dear Deutchland For fifteen to twenty years) Each and every German dances to the strain Of the I Was Not A Nazi Polka All without exception join in the refrain Of the I Was Not A Nazi Polka Goerring wasn't crazy, he wanted to deport (Sing The I Was Not A Nazi Polka) The (unintelligeable) at Dachau was just a nice resort (Sing The I Was Not A Nazi Polka) The German is so cultured, he does not like to fight The peaceful life is what he most enjoys For years the German people were utterly convinced That IG Farben manufactured children's toys I never shot a luger or goosed a single step (Sing The I Was Not A Nazi Polka) ...and a little further along in the song.... To our Isreali allies let us raise a toast (Sing The I Was Not A Nazi Polka) Sure there were some Nazis, two or three at most (Sing The I Was Not A Nazi Polka) We tried to throw off Hitler right from the very start That's what every history book should tell We hated Heinrich Himmler, Martin Bohrman, too We believe as Sherman did that war is hell hell, hell hell heil heil HEIL... Anyway, it's a song that may fit your criteria.
