Police: Delp Committed Suicide with Carbon Monoxide

The lead singer of the rock band Boston was found dead at his New Hampshire home Friday.

Boston lead singer Bradley Delp's family says that he committed suicide through carbon monoxide poisoning, according to WGIR-FM.

The 55-year-old was found dead in his New Hampshire home Friday.

The family released a statement, but gave no other details on how the star died, however WGIR-FM reports that Delp left a suicide note.

"He was a man who gave all he had to give to everyone around him, whether family, friends, fans or strangers," the statement said. "He gave as long as he could, as best he could, and he was very tired. We take comfort in knowing that he is now, at last, at peace."

Boston had a number of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including "More Than a Feeling," "Peace of Mind," and "Foreplay/Long Time."

When not working with Boston, Delp played in a Beatles cover band called Beatlejuice.

The band's official website was taken down Friday and replaced with this message: "The nicest, kindest, most caring, down to earth rock star the world has ever known. May you rest in Peace."

Boston was going to rehearse throughout May, then set out on a big tour in June. A new Boston album was being worked on, although its exact status is unknown.

Delp was also planning to get married to longtime girlfriend Pamela Sullivan this summer.
