The Songfactors' Choice Top Ten # 53

The Byrds - She don't care about time Video

The guitar solo uses a very familiar classical tune, but I can't quite pinpoint it. Can you help me?

Dappled, this is from allmusic.com:

One of the early Byrds' finest records, "She Don't Care About Time" was unfortunately regulated to only B-side status for the "Turn, Turn, Turn" single. Gene Clark's intricate, densely packed wordplay reached unheard of heights with this tune, and conveys romanticism at it's best. Although not actually part of the songwriting process, Roger McGuinn's nifty Bach-inspired guitar lines (from "Joy of Man's Desiring") took the song to even greater heights.

Does that help? :)

I love The Bangles (and Bananarama) from the 80s, Jenny. :)

And Joe, those oldies are two of my favorites.

Here's a sound clip (with pics) of that beautiful song

Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye - The Casinos

I couldn't find the Murmaids "Popsicles And Icicles" though. A light frothy song that you couldn't help sing along with.

There's quite a few songs I don't know there that I'll have to 'watch' later.

Well let's get it into the Ten for Katie's Facts. :)

I just found a bit of info on them in one of my books.

Funny, I have more U.S. Music Books in my Library than I do Australia and U.K. combined. I suppose there's more available. (Although I didn't count Biographies. Other than Elvis, I have more of U.K. Groups).

Yes Laurie, they were great. Wonderful harmonies and Glen Shorrock was a great frontman. He's probably my favorite Australian male singer. In fact I liked his earlier stuff with different Oz Groups, namely The Twilights and Axiom. I should have contributed to that Thread.

With all this talk of the Finn brothers, I'd like to renominate:

"Six Months In A Leaky Boat" - Split Enz

It should get extra points because it's the worst video ever made.

"Los Angeles" - Frank Black

This should set a record for fewest points. :) Oh, and the video cuts off the first line for some reason...
