Lucky
hey baba, welcome to songfacts! That sounds vaguely familiar to me, do you know any details at all ? The time period, type of music (rock, pop, whatever), is it a group or solo artist, etc ? Someone will come along soon and know the answer I'm sure... Lucky
Ah yes, mr. glock. Or is that mr. strap? Basically what baba is saying is that the phrase is being used as a tag line, much the same as Jim Morrison's use of "stronger than dirt" at the end of the Doors song "Touch Me". You might be too young for that reference though! I'm still trying to figure out the song, I'm sure I've heard it...

TheLizard
This is going to bug me. I know exactly what the song is, I can hear it. And no, it's not the song from the musical, it's from the 60's or 70's. Darn it, this is really going to annoy me!

blind-fitter
Why has the thread title changed when we haven't figured out what song it is yet? One thing we know for sure is that it isn't "Oh, What A Beautiful Morning" from Oklahoma, by Rodgers & Hammerstein...
TheLizard
I was wondering about that too...
Lucky
Here's a shot... Probably not this song, but I googled, and googled, and came up with this one... Daydream In Blue by I Monsters Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day. Daydream, I dream of you amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, such a beautiful day. I dream a dirty dream of ya baby you're crawling on the bathroom floor, you float around the room and you're naked, then you're flying out the bedroom door, I dream a dirty dream I dream a dirty dream Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day. Daydream, I dream of you amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, such a beautiful day. I dream a dirty dream of you baby you're swingin from the chandalier I'm climbing up the walls 'cos I want ya but when I reach ya, you dissappear, I dream a dirty dream I dream a dirty dream I daydream I daydream I daydream Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day. Daydream, I dream of you amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, such a beautiful day. Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day. Daydream, I dream of you amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, such a beautiful day. ....Maybe they use the tag line at the end?
Lucky
Then there's this thought from sexybabe: What a Beautiful Day ~ Chris Cagle Day one, I stumbled through hello on 5th Ave Day two, we grabbed a bite to eat And talked all afternoon Caught a movie on day fourteen And day sixty-seven she said "I love you" to me Oh, what a feelin' What a wonderful emotion Yeah, what a life Counting my blessings and knowin' Ooh, we had our ups and downs All along the way She had a chance to leave But chose to stay What a beautiful day What a beautiful day Day one-sixteen I asked her what she was doin' For the rest of my life Day one eighty- nine, oh I almost lost that girl To my foolish pride She said "I do" On day four eighty-two And gave me a son On day seven sixty-one Oh, what a feelin' What a wonderful emotion Yeah, what a life Counting my blessings and knowin' Ooh, we had our ups and downs All along the way She had a chance to leave But chose to stay What a beautiful day Day eighteen thousand two hundred and fifty-three Well, honey that's fifty years Yeah, here's to you and me Oh, what a feelin' What a wonderful emotion Yeah, what a life Counting my blessings and knowin' Ooh, we had our ups and downs all along the way She had a chance to leave But chose to stay What a beautiful day What a beautiful day
The Seeker
And there's this song by Ace of Base: What a beautiful morning The best in life is free Mmm, what a beautiful morning Believe me What a mystery, all the world’s on fire Yesterday’s hard work still in my head I feel no despair, no regrets or sorrow Cause this new day makes me dance on air (What a golden day) What a beautiful morning in my life The best in life is free I’d give it all away And I wonder what more is to come Let this beautiful morning change my mind Believe me when I say The shadows are fading out, oh yeah As the day grows bright, we are turning pages And we write new chapters of our lives Some are strong and long, others weak with sorrow Keep the focus on the rising sun (What a golden day) What a beautiful morning in my life The best in life is free I’d give it all away And I wonder what more is to come And this beautiful morning changed my mind Believe me when I say The shadows faded out, oh yeah Believe me Crows will always fly Believe me They are only birds You have to, you have to let go And you will see things in a different light What a beautiful morning. mmm.. What a beautiful morning Oooh. Believe me Oh what a beautiful, what a beautiful morning. What a beautiful morning...
JuniorNB
Noone knows?? I still can't find it!! Check out my earlier answer, Montego Bay by Bobby Bloom. It has a reggae-like beat throughout the song, but at the end, it slows way down and he sings, "Oh what a beautiful morning. Oh what a beautiful day. I got a beautiful feeling, everyrthing's going my way" Here's the file. Let us know if this is it. http://download.yousendit.com/AF7ABCBD15875868
bazooka
That sounds good to me, JuniorNB! babaoriley, yea or nay? Earth-Angel, did you re-name this thread? If so, remedial reading comprehension might be advised for you, as well. While I'm at it, I'll gripe about this one too (California -- John Mayall)

PSYCHOcatholic
I did this song for an Audition of a musical i did once...its definitely Rogers and Hammerstein.
logan01
I thought pretty much everyone was in agreement that the lyrics were indeed from Rogers and Hammerstein and also the lyrics were added to the end of a 60s/ 70s pop song such as Montego Bay, etc. Am I confused here? I could be after having just grilled a bunch of ribs outdoors in 70 degree temps. Be glad when it warms up. :happybanana:
