Good Morning Starshine ~ 5th Dimension

Good Morning Star shine

The earth says "hello"

You twinkle above us

We twinkle below.

Good Morning Star shine

You lead us along

My love and me as we sing

Our early morning singin' song

(middle eight)

Gliddy glub gloopy; Nibby nabby noopy

La la la lo lo...

Sabba sibby sabba; Nooby abba nabba

Le le lo lo...

Tooby ooby walla; Nooby abba nabba

Early morning singin' song.

Good Morning Star shine

The earth says "hello"

You twinkle above us

We twinkle below.

Good Morning Star shine

You lead us along

My love and me as we sing

Our early morning singin' song

(Repeat middle eight)

Singin' a song, humming a song

Singing a song...

Loving a song, laughing a song

Singing a song...

Sing the song; Song the sing

Song song song sing

Sing sing sing sing song

Song song song sing

Sing sing sing sing song

And the song "Hair"

HAIR

- by Gerome Ragni and James Rado

She asks me why

I'm just a hairy guy

I'm hairy noon and night

Hair that's a fright

I'm hairy high and low

Don't ask me why

Don't know

It's not for lack of bread

Like the Grateful Dead

Darling

Gimme head with hair

Long beautiful hair

Shining, gleaming,

Streaming, flaxen, waxen

Give me down to there hair

Shoulder length or longer

Here baby, there mama

Everywhere daddy daddy

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair

Flow it, show it

Long as God can grow it

My hair

Let it fly in the breeze

And get caught in the trees

Give a home to the fleas in my hair

A home for fleas

A hive for bees

A nest for birds

There ain't no words

For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder

Of my...

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair

Flow it, show it

Long as God can grow it

My hair

I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy

Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty

Oily, greasy, fleecy

Shining, gleaming, streaming

Flaxen, waxen

Knotted, polka-dotted

Twisted, beaded, braided

Powdered, flowered, and confettied

Bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied!

Oh say can you see

My eyes if you can

Then my hair's too short

Down to here

Down to there

Down to where

It stops by itself

They'll be ga ga at the go go

When they see me in my toga

My toga made of blond

Brilliantined

Biblical hair

My hair like Jesus wore it

Hallelujah I adore it

Hallelujah Mary loved her son

Why don't my mother love me?

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair

Flow it, show it

Long as God can grow it

My hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair

Flow it, show it

Long as God can grow it

My hair

Sometimes I just want to kick and scream at some of the requests I run across in these music/song forums. I then realize there may be many reasons for the posting. A person could believe that a quick relief to their music-related question is to go to a forum such as this one. Perhaps another may be nothing more than a desire to enjoy the participation in a forum therefore that person might choose to "enter" the domain by posting what appears to be a lame-like question. Those are but a couple of quick scenarios I feel may be reason for their postings. With that said, I believe we all recognize BS postings when we see them. I say lets enjoy the info we get from one another, respect each other's listening preferences and, welcome newcomers with open arms. I believe I'm hearing violins playing now. :)

A medley of 'Aquarius' and 'Let the Sunshine In' was a major hit in 1969 as recorded by the Fifth Dimension, as were 'Easy to Be Hard' and 'Hair,' as recorded by Three Dog Night and the Cowsills, respectively. "Good Morning, Starshine" was made popular by Oliver the same year.

There are many versions, "Hair" was performed (in English) in England and in the States. The above mantionned are the more popular.

I nominated "Aquarius/Let The Sun Shine In" in a Songfactors' Choice Top Ten some time ago. It came 11th. As The 5th Dimension still haven't made one of our Top Tens, I'm going to make it one of my nominations for Top Ten #52.

New participants are ALWAYS welcome !

Please take a look sometime if you're not already a 'Top Tenner'.

:)
