Sweet Jane 61
I found this and since Valentine's Day was yesterday, romance is still in the air. This is a list of the best screen kisses of all time accroding to lovefilm.com....you will be surprised with number one! Which was a very passionate kiss in my opinion. Best Kisses
Otokichi
Oh really? I much prefer the montage of kisses cut out from movies over the years that plays near the end of "Cinema Nuovo Paradiso." (Alfredo brought some peace of mind to his old friend, Salvatore/Toto, which reaches across the spiritual plane.)
Shawna
I heard years ago that Vivien Leigh hated filming that kiss, because Clark Gable's breath was so bad. She doesn't look like she's enjoying it at all!
PSYCHOcatholic
Best On Screen Kiss... If Hillary Duff and I were to kiss on screen, i think it would be the best...dont know about anybody else.
Aleksandra
And it was indeed the best kiss I've ever seen on screen, imo.
Lucky
Some may not remember it, but the kiss between Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr in "From Here to Eternity"? Very hot. Lying on the beach, the surf washing around them. Oh yeah.
OLD 55
I remember it like yesterday, except I was so young and innocent that I thought she was drowning and he was tring to rescusitate her. (I avoid movies with same sex kissing. I see 3 made the List. Yuk !).
Farin
I think the list isn't about the Best, but about the Most Talked About Kisses, or Most Famous maybe... Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's wasn't anything special - if it wouldn't have been the first onscreen kiss since they came together (or did they get together afterwards? I forgot) same with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair - nobody would even remember it if it weren't for the fact that both were girls... I don't avoid same sex kissing, it's probably just that it lost that 'Shock' potential to me... maybe because I'm European? who knows...
PSYCHOcatholic
i bout ran for the toilet in brokeback mountain... i just happen to be flippin through the channels as they are about to "do it"
Farin
really? why? I didn't see the movie (yet) - is it that bad?
PSYCHOcatholic
The movie could have done without that scene...definitely, but my then girlfriend made me sit through it. It could have been done a whole lot better. See it...experience it...never see it again. Its one of those, i saw it once, ill not see it again. Farin
the fact that I didn't see it until now, is because I'm sure that it doesn't interrest me - and that has nothing to do that it's about two men... I couldn't care less about that no, it's because it's one of these "women movies" lots of drama, lots of heardache, little action and a story that could have been told in half the time... not my kind of thing
PSYCHOcatholic
Lol, i guess i can understand where your coming from then.
TheLizard
I have to agree with Farin. Movies that center on the romance between a guy and a girl are boring enough, why would I want to see a movie centering on the romance between a guy and a guy? PSYCHOcatholic
What about "Philadelphia"?
TheLizard
I haven't seen it. The only thing I know about it is the really good Springsteen song that came out of it.
Uncle Joe
Philadelphia was a great movie. Guys kissing each other in movies (or anywhere for that matter) are a real turn-off for me. I don't wanna see it. Yes, I know it's a fact of life and that it's their right to kiss and I accept that and even defend that right. I just don't wanna see it. I certainly don't wanna see the other things they do with each other either.
Jenny
Philadelphia does a great job of showing a gay relationship. Tom and Antonio's relationship is actually portrayed very sweetly. There is a scene at a holiday where one or both families are gathered around and they are looked upon as a couple, like any other. I think one of them is even bouncing someone's baby on their knee. Sweet Jane 61
You are right on Edna. The story in Philadelphia was truly moving. I must defend Brokeback Mountain. The movie in my opinion was more of a deep loving friendship for someone. Yes they had a physical relationship, but the love that Enis had for Jack was deep and real. And the kissing scene that they are talking about was very passionate, two lovers who had not seen one another in years, it was powerful. The scene where he goes to Jack's parents home and he goes into Jack's room is so moving. Enis finds Jack's shirt and he just holds it, not wanting to let go of the love he had lost. I thought the movie was one of the most moving love stories I have ever seen, and it being about two men...so what.
Farin
and it being about two men...so what. that's what I think too. It just that the movie doesn't interest me enough, but with the same reason I wouldn't want to watch "The Piano", or "The Bridges of Madison County" or "Gone with the Wind" and films like that... you know what I mean? Sweet Jane 61
I do understand Farin, movies with romance are a chick thing, and that is cool with me.
TheLizard
There's romance in Star Wars. Han and Leia. That's all the romance I need.
