MuzikTyme Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Astonishing! I'm having slow-cooked navy beans with buttermilk cornbread and a slice of Smithfield ham baked w/pineapple and honey-mustard glaze with a huge glass of milk. (ham makes me thirsty) probably split pea That's what I thought came out of Linda Blair's mouth in, "The Exorcist."
MuzikTyme Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Thank goodness! For a minute I thought I might have to phone Max von Sydow...or Jesus.
_Laurie_ Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 I"m having fried dough with powdered sugar on top and a cup of coffee...
MuzikTyme Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 In my neck-of-the-woods we call that, "Elephant's ears." It's a lot to eat much less the sugar and dough which ensues. Coffee is good as long as it's fresh-ground-roast pure Columbian.
_Laurie_ Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 I'm having Cardoons, they're delish!...My aunt made them.
skybluesky Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 What are cardoons? Like macaroons? I had rice krispies and a cup of peppermint coffee.
Uncle Joe Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Italian sausage patty on a roll with onions, peppers and mushrooms. Diet Coke and a banana.
_Laurie_ Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 What are cardoons? Like macaroons? I had rice krispies and a cup of peppermint coffee. No Shannon, they are related to the artichoke family...it's stalks that are dipped in egg and flour and fried.....
Farin Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 the rest of an After Eight chocolate Santa
The Seeker Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 What's that look like? Trying to picture it; doesn't work.
Farin Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 it looks just like a normal chocolate father christmas/santa claus: only that it's made out of mint chocolate (not filled though, just mint flavoured)
Heimann47 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 i'll second that. that thing looks delectable!
Farin Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 don't you have chocolate santas in the US? or is it because of the After Eight?
Heimann47 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 I haven't come across any mint ones. Then again, the Marine Corps isn't known for the food...
skybluesky Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 I've never seen After Eights myself. I just liked the mint chocolate idea, but we have other varieties of mint chocolates.
Farin Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 oh that's a pity, because After Eight is the best mint chocolate... ever that's how their normal 'thin mints' look like:
Heimann47 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 it looks like a big Andes and those things are delicious too!
Levis Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 AGH AFTER EIGHTS MY ONE (of many) WEAKNESS(es)
