Levis Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 also drunk people are creepy I am having blueberries in yogurt with raw sugar
Levis Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 ^ this is after the chocolate croissant my housemate brought back from work.
The Seeker Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Well obviously drunk people are ridiculous/stupid/creepy unless you're drunk yourself. I'm having raspberry muffins.
Levis Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 but when you're drunk you're stupid, I don't understand the concept of willingly stupidifying yourself.
The Seeker Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Well, why do YOU drink then? Sometimes it's fun being stupid.
Levis Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 I'm preeeetty sure getting drunk isn't the main reason people drink. Chiz, if that was the case it wouldn't be a social activity at all, it'd be cheaper to invest in a lame bottle of wine and be done with it at home.
The Seeker Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 It's hardly fun being drunk alone. And I don't think most people drink alcohol because they like the taste so much.
Farin Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 And I don't think most people drink alcohol because they like the taste so much. One shouldn't forget that alcohol is a drug too, just like with cigarettes, once you're used to it the taste doesn't matter that much. Otherwise I'll agree with both of you - drinking alcohol is a large part of social interaction in our culture, but it's not the only reason.
Levis Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 'tis a 'social lubricant' innit? Don't need to get sh*tfaced on it though. Just my not-very-humble-at-all opinion.
The Seeker Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Of course it's s social lubricant. And Martin is right too. It's kinda difficult to not drink more once you're tipsy already though, innit? No?
Levis Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 No easy - you're nearly broke and any more alcohol will make you feel sick.
pinkstones Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Right now I'm not eating/drinking anything, but my dad made grilled steak, fried potatoes with onions and peppers and peas for lunch. Funny, my dad grills lunch for us every weekend.
Shawna Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I'm preeeetty sure getting drunk isn't the main reason people drink. getting drunk is the ONLY reason I ever have any alcohol. I can't stand the taste of it (regardless of what it is) so I only drink when I want to loosen up and get crazy, which happens on average maybe 3 times a year. And I always regret it when I'm hurling the next day and swear I'll never do it again.
_Laurie_ Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I actually like the taste of maragaritas...really I do!....
TheLizard Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I like the taste of beer and whiskey. I like the effects of beer and whiskey. There are people who like both.
_Laurie_ Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I like the taste and effects of wine too...
TheLizard Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 On a semi-related note, last night I almost got busted for attending a party where drinking was occurring, despite the fact that (unusually) I had not been drinking. I got in a verbal sparring match with the fat pig cop that was rounding everyone up, and, in a rare victory, my obvious contempt for authority got me out of the situation. Which is good because I already got in trouble 3 weeks ago for possession, and if I got another infraction I would be totally f**ked. Stupid draconian American drinking laws. Not quite as bad as our marijuana laws, but still...
pinkstones Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 My sis was a sweetheart and made me some chocolate pudding because she knows I've been blue lately.
MuzikTyme Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I like the taste and effects of wine too... So do I; more the effects than the taste, though! I'm currently enjoying a plate of beef tenderloin stroganoff made with dumpling noodles bathed in a sour cream/sherry wine gravy surrounded by broccoli clusters and a fluted glass 1/2 filled with chablis blanc on the side. Home-made blueberry cobbler à la mode for dessert. It's truly a yummy combination! Damn, my new girlfriend can cook! Hopefully, she'll be half as good in the bedroom as she is in the kitchen!
_Laurie_ Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 ^^^^ Ummm has anyone seen Marcus lately?...
MindCrime Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Rainbow chip cookies with milk for breakfast.
pinkstones Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I just had some leftovers from yesterday for lunch.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 I'm having a threesome with Ben and Jerry. Actually, it's a foursome since I am partaking of Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream.
Kevin Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 That just sounds ...so sad , somehow ...
