experienced one
I grew up and live in the Washington DC area. THE radio station that taught me what good music was, 94.7, a classic rock format that to this day I measure all other C rock stations against. I tuned in this afternoon and was shocked to find that the station had undergone a reformatting. This is truly a travesty as anyone who has listened to this station can tell you, they knew their classic rock. To the people who taught me Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers Band, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Steve Miller Band, and so many more that I would not ever be able to list, thank you, you will me missed. MarcM
Must be a damned frequency. My favorite rock station (before the term "Classic Rock" existed)was at 94.7 and played the same format. The station was KMET, and I miss it to this day. They went away 20 years ago this year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KMET
The Seeker
I know that in the south of Germany there's a classic rock station at 94.7.
Elvish
Here it's KTTS: country station but the best weather and news on the radio. It was our lifeline when we were without electricity from the ice storm.
Sweet Jane 61
The station that I loved and eventually ended up being a DJ at was sold and all staff fired in September of 2003. We went from kick azz classic/new rock to all religious music. On the last day on the air, our sign off was at midnight and the last song that played was Highway to Hell!! PSYCHOcatholic
Our classic Rock Station will forever be 106.1 WTAK, and we kinda got a new oldies/soft classic rock/classic rock. Its a radio station designed for the music that you can sing along too, those songs that EVERYBODY knows.
