MindCrime Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 Is there a limit on how many private messages / read receipts you can store in your memo box? I usually don't delete these.
Sara Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 There is no limit, we don't have the functionality to place a limit on the number stored. We would appreciate it if everyone deletes PMs that are not needed. It helps to save space on our server.
MindCrime Posted July 7, 2004 Author Report Posted July 7, 2004 OK I'll delete the ones I don't need, & thank you for replying, I've been kinda waiting, wondering if I need to delete those, in case it blocks others from coming in
Sara Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Nope, don't worry, you should always receive new PMs fine. Please keep any messages that you want to save, but we would appreciate everyone deleting old ones that aren't needed.
invisible_r Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Im trying to reply to a private message someone sent me, but its telling me that the user is not accepting private messages. why is that?
Earth-Angel Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 That'll be because the member has disabled PMs. They'd have to reactivate them in order for you to successfully send them one.
Uncle Joe Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Sue, I must tell you once again how nice it is to have you back.
edna Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 I´ve deleted all my PMs... I know it´s kinda ridiculous but I hope my humble contribution will help...
Earth-Angel Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Sue, I must tell you once again how nice it is to have you back. Thanks Unky! ::

Shall I wait until the PM is reactivated? Maybe the receiver doesn´t even know?
Earth-Angel Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Edna baby, when you go to your My Home, you can set it that you don't receive private messages - so the person who you are trying to PM has decided they would rather not receive them.
_jr_ Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I turn my pm capabilities off when I log off. I turn them on when I log on.

MindCrime Posted June 13, 2006 Author Report Posted June 13, 2006 Is there a shelf-life on the PM's, because when I came back after a year of absence, my whole list of saved PM's was gone. I had well over 50 of them saved, it isn't a problem, just a hypethetical question. Thx
bluesboy Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 I think we had an upgrade of the server last October or so, but all pm's were lost in the process. Someone more computer savvy can explain it better.
Earth-Angel Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Quite right Bluesboy We moved to this schnazzy new site and were asked to copy/paste our saved PMs to our own harddrives so we could start off fresh
MindCrime Posted June 15, 2006 Author Report Posted June 15, 2006 Thanks bluesboy for clearing that up & good to see you posting on the boards.
Shawna Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Kenne, you change signatures about as often as I do.
MindCrime Posted June 28, 2006 Author Report Posted June 28, 2006 LOL Shawna, I know it's a pretty bad habit, the same with the avatar fetish. Back in the day, I used to change icons, signatures, & even my screen name on a bi-weekly basis. You go through name changes like water, reminds me of Cher
Shawna Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I do the same thing with my signature... I don't think it's a necessarily bad habit... keeps it fresh.
