Jenny
This is why other countries hate Americans. They see all of us as over-bleached, over-tanned air heads. I'd be surprised if she could find her way around her house without a map.

MarcM
I just saw a show on PBS about how it is very popular in Europe to hate the US. It has everything to do with the US having so much influence in the world and other countries feeling like their culture is being snuffed out. That and our governments involvement with goings on abroad. They even went so far as to say that the countries they visited (Ireland, England, France and Poland) we jealous of the US because they are not as important to world politics anymore. Farin
Photo Essay - 25 Money Confessions like Post Secret... only about money and can somebody explain to me the "I am the Joneses." one?
Uncle Joe
Martin, without having looked at your link I think I can explain the "Joneses" comment. In America there is a saying that goes, "he's trying to keep up with the Joneses" which generally means he is living beyond his means simply to match the success of his neighbors. I'm guessing that the "I am the Joneses" comment means that I am the one that others strive to match.
Sweet Jane 61
Just wondering why the last name Jones was always used? Guess because it sounded good? Smith is common last name but that wouldn't flow as well.
