Floydaholic
The movie just seemed pretty pointless to me, since he died, and a girl was born. It doesn't even explain how everyone became infertile, or how she got pregnant.
Uncle Joe
I believe it does explain her pregnancy.
Floydaholic
Could you explain to me how it does??. I really didn't get that from the movie. This wasn't the last movie I saw, but I'd give Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 a 9/10, because it was a very enjoyable movie. It seems to me like there could be another sequel, does anybody else agree??. I'd love it if there was.
CanAm
Spiderman 3 - 8.5/10. IMO, the best of the trilogy. Although they didn't do nearly enough with the Venom character (I mean, Topher Grace....Come On!!!), I did like the character of the Sandman. Thanks to Thomas Hayden Church, he comes across as a sympathetic character. I particularly liked the scene where the alien parasite-influenced Peter Parker kicks Harry Osborne's a**. Who would have thought that pasty-faced Toby Maguire could realistically convey such vitriol. Shrek The Third - 9/10 This installment was better than the first and not quite as good as Shrek 2. Plenty of laughs, though!! I particularly liked Shrek's dreams of fatherhood.
Otokichi
I bought the set to see if another narrator would make a difference. Yep, no one can out do the junior Attenborough for making an epic breathtaking. "Planet Earth" (10/10) Sigourney Weaver did her best, but restrained enthusiasm can't trump English dry wit. Floydaholic
I found out a few days ago that a Toy Story 3 is definately on the way!!. I think it's coming out in 2009, so I can't wait to see that. I'd probably give that a 9/10, the other 2 were that good IMMHO.

Blue Fish
The Queen. 9/10. I loved it, I cried! Only thing is that I didn't enjoy seeing a close up of a severed Stags head and of it's body hanging upside down with the blood draining out of it's neck. Not something I wanna see when I'm eating tomato kechup sandwiches.
Kevin
" The Straight Story " ( 1999 ) : I can't say for sure how many times I've seen this , or parts of it , but it Always sucks me in to finish watching it . David Lynch ( believe it or not ) directs a heart warming story of an elderly man crossing the US Mid-West on a garden tractor in order to make peace with a brother he hasn't seen for many years . Just ... great , and full of interesting and decent folk that he meets along the way . Makes one wish that everyone could take such a pleasant trip like that at least once in their life . 10/
Foolonthehill
Just watched Dr. Strangelove again last night...MarcM's avatar prompted me to do so. 10/10 so many witty lines, amazing acting, and a clever plot.
daslied
"Half Nelson" - Ryan Gosling is fantastically good. Avoided a lot of the cliches I expected. 7/10. Oh, it's about a teacher who's addicted to crack. "Casino Royale" - Daniel Craig rules as James Bond. 8/10 for a good action movie.
SoulGirl
^ dying to see 'half nelson' and have seen 'casino royale' three times - it rocks!!! daniel craig kicks it as bond!! on friday night i watched 'herz aus glas', a movie made by german director werner herzog in 1976. it's very slow and strange. the director wanted the characters to appear under a depressive tracne so he hypnotised all but one of the actors and they perform their lines under hypnosis. it's crazy! very cryptic and random but the scenery is amazing and some of the shots are fantastic. i wouldn't recommend it to the casual film-watcher!! Foolonthehill
Finally saw Pirates III. It wasn't as bad as I had expected, especially when compared to the standard set by the second one. Lots of action. 7/10.
phil
Just saw Knocked Up. Very funny with a nice story mixed in. The cast is great. It was written by Judd Apatow, who won writing Emmy's for The Larry Sander's Show. He also wrote The 40 Year Old Virgin. Definitely recommend it. 9/

Ombre Vivante
I just saw Strip For Action and there were many things wrong with this movie: 1. Not a lot of stripping. 3. Not a lot of action. c. I tried to copy some of the... better parts of the movie only to find out the stupid thing has that copy protector thingy. Worst movie for this month. Farin
An Inconvenient Truth by/with Al Gore well, I'm still watching it, but I'll give it a 10 nevertheless even though there aren't many new facts (for me) he still gives some very good and interesting examples... should be mandatory watching in every school, imho
Ombre Vivante
I watched Alan Clarke's cinema version of Scum for the fourth time this morning. This movie ranks pretty high as one of my all-time favourites. After that was finished, I needed to come off that high by watching 3 minutes of Coyote Ugly to bring me back to the real world of mediocrity. CanAm
My wife and I rented "The Queen" this past weekend. Helen Mirren's portrayal of Elizabeth II was nothing short of outstanding. After seeing the movie, I don't know whether to feel contempt or pity for the Queen. She certainly is a somewhat cold and detached individual, but then she also is a product of her upbringing. I still think all the fulsome praise heaped on Diana was a bit over the top. While her death at such a young age was tragic, I don't believe that she was the persecuted, unloved victim of the royal family. She was old enough when she married Charles to know what she was getting into. While his behaviour during their marriage was reprehensible, she certainly didn't behave with much decorum or dignity before or after the divorce. James Cromwell's portrayal of the Duke of Edinburgh as a cold, pompous, not-too-bright windbag was spot on. 9.5/
Ombre Vivante
Just came off Luchino Visconti's Le Notti Bianche... totally schweet. Right up there with his other stuff such as Death In Venice and The Damned.
edna
I love "Death in Venice"... I used to go with my friends to see it every week, just like "Monterrey Pop" and "Woodstock".
