edna
I will post an easy one as Mr.Judge isn't around... These two songs (among the most famous in history) were recorded on the same day, same studio, same producer but different performers. Two of them weren't even in the studio. In fact, they had split. (I need the name of the two songs)

edna
Oh, I didn' t know that... But the ones I have in mind are classics too... by icons... Think 1965.
Brad_M
I was only taking a wild guess, Edna, not stating it as a fact, only because they were both hits around the same time in 1957. Here's another guess with your 1965 hint in mind: "Ticket To Ride" by The Beatles and "Help Me, Rhonda" by The Beach Boys?
cyberjudge
"The Sounds of Silence" and "Like a Rolling Stone". (Simon & Garfunkel were in England at the time the song was remixed in the studio.) I'll try to come up with a new clue this time instead of leaving it to the pros. edna
"The Sounds of Silence" and "Like a Rolling Stone". (Simon & Garfunkel were in England at the time the song was remixed in the studio.) That's it!! Actually, Paul Simon was in England, the duo had split by then Producer Tom Wilson, after recording "Like A Rolling Stone", remained in the studio, took the original acoustic "The Sound Of Silence" and overdubbed it with drums (Bobby Gregg), electric bass (Bob Bushnell) and electric guitar (Al Gorgoni), all without the knowledge or participation of Simon & Garfunkel and rereleased it as a single in September 1965.(from wikipedia)
