Rayzor Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) I think I've found an investor who'll help me publish my work. We're meeting in 3 weeks, but I don't foresee any problems as the book will be available online (print on demand) meaning that initial printing costs are minimal (due to printing co's only shipping AFTER payment). I will also take on half of the initial set-up costs & my partner will receive all profits. I can't see anyone refusing that deal... Edit: Just received a message from my investor. He told me to keep writing. We're going along with it! :happybanana: Just wants to meet up to go over the details when he's back in town. My book may be on shelves/online by early to mid 2014! Edited October 2, 2013 by Guest Had to add new info...
Rayzor Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 I'm glad to hear that! And my financial backing will be happy too!
Zabadak Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Listening to The Clash in my lunchbreak on my 'phones while the madness happens around me...
Kevin1429030929 Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) That's always fun. I remember listening to New Order as well and looking around me as real life seemed to mirror songs ... and then someone would always ruin your 'buzz7 by asking 'What are you listening to ?!? ' . Carl Posted October 4, 2013 Report Posted October 4, 2013 Mailed leaves today. Do it every year. 10 points if you can guess why. (and yes, it sweetens my coffee)
Lucky Posted October 4, 2013 Report Posted October 4, 2013 Do you sell them, maybe to florists, etc? Cardinal Baseball sweetens my coffee!
Shawna Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 You send it to a charity that has something to do with kids who never see seasons. Like somewhere in outer Siberia.
Carl Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Close. My stepmother is an elementary school teacher in Florida, where the leaves don't turn. It lets the kids get a non-virtual look and feel.
Shawna Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 I think I deserve at least 5 points for that answer. You are a good person, Carl. Anybody that does random nice things has a good soul. Unless you're Ted Bundy.
edna Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 That's great!!! I'd love to live in Florida and watch the leaves that are green turn to brown etc... virtually.
Jenny Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 I have a job interview tomorrow! Also, I found a business suit to wear to this interview at the local consignment shop for $25...and not a cheap label either. Wish me luck.
miamisammy29 Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Good luck, Jenny. And if you don't get that job, you can have mine.
Jenny Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 Thanks, everyone. I think the interview went well...at least it was good practice. I haven't interviewed in a looooong time. It's quite a commute, but a good friend of ours works there, AND I'll finally have disposable income, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Jenny Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Had another interview at the same place...met the person who'd actually be my boss (I think). Let's see what happens....
Zabadak Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 Did you impress him/her with your music knowledge?
