_Laurie_
I remember my friend's first big party at her house when the parents went away...she said her brother could get us a keg of beer...well he got the keg, and then we looked at it, and wondered how the heck to get the beer out of it.... ....Ummmm he kinda forgot the tap that went to it...LOL
Lucky
I think I was at that party! I found a great copper/wrought iron thing yesterday, originally 80.00 marked down to 20. Although it is meant to be a drink container, it'll be great for plants. I love finding deals.
The Seeker
I´ll bring the brownies and the vodka... You have some cool parents, Fin... Mine used to travel a lot and my brother and I threw parties very often. We had the house, the fridge, the car... Cool and foolish... after all, they expect me to take care of the cat/plants/house/laundry/dishes for two weeks...
Lucky
The plants and the cats I might worry about. They are living things. The house/dishes/laundry? Since they are gone, it's just your mess, right? I'd expect you to do that anyhow.

Shawna
This is a sort of grinding my gears thing, but my kid's response to it just made me laugh. I have been promising we'd get new better cell phones as soon as our Tmobile contract was up, which happened last week. Today I discovered the hot water heater has to be replaced. I can't afford both the phones and the water heater. So I jokingly asked my kid which was more important to him. He says, "Mom, I don't taking showers in cold water." Ahhh, the priorities of the young.
edna
Wise boy, Shawna!! Cool and foolish... after all, they expect me to take care of the cat/plants/house/laundry/dishes for two weeks... Well, that´s a low price for a great time, Fin... My brother and I took care of EVERYTHING (even sometimes our little sister, who is 18 and 16 years younger than us) and we loved it... Our parties were famous in the swinging Madrid of the mid-late seventies...

Red Fish
kc green doesnt get enough attention tho his humor might not be up your alley http://rumblo.com/ also while its not always intended to be comical i thought minus was a really charming webcomic type thing http://www.kiwisbybeat.com/minus1.html and i assume you already know of saturday morning breakfast cereal but just in case http://www.smbc-comics.com/
Farin
thanks some stuff by KC Green is really good, I enjoyed eg The Origin of the Eternal Soulless Robot (click next) minus is... different... I see what you mean with the "probably not intended comical" and I DO know SMBC, but haven't read anything of it in a while, good stuff too I'll keep on reading QC and xkcd too though
Red Fish
yeh but jeph jacques tries so hard to be an loudmouth indie wannabe that he forgets to write jokes also all his characters look the same and its even worse when he makes two characters with the same hair color get it on ya know what im sayin
