Uncle Joe
It seems that every thread I click on to read this morning starts with a new page. Then I have to back up to the previous page to see what's been posted, then back to the new page again if I want to add a response. I hate that. Levis
My settings automatically take me to the newest post in the thread
The Seeker
I make educated guesses... with 8 new posts, I click on the second to last page, with 34 new posts, on the fourth to last, and so on (I've got 10 replies per page)
Farin
you can also simply click on the name of the thread - it will automatically take you to the first new post, regardless of the page
The Seeker
Not for me

Uncle Joe
My settings automatically take me to the newest post in the thread So do mine. That's the problem.
The Seeker
I think you've got different definitions of "newest".
Uncle Joe
Newest meaning latest.
Levis
To the first unread post, then
Farin
you get to the latest post by clicking on the "last post" link... you get to the "oldes unread post" (ie the first New one) if you check the above mentioned box in the Control Panel and then click on the title of the thread
Uncle Joe
Martin, I've had that box checked for years and it always takes me to the latest post in the thread. I'd prefer to be taken to the first unread post but can't find a way to do so.
The Seeker
You know, I just had a look, and it's checked for me too. Still takes me to the most recent post.
Farin
even when you simply click on the thread's name? that's strange... If this is checked, clicking on the subject of a topic with new posts will autojump you down to the first unread post. Without this option checked clicking on a topic subject will take you to the first post in the topic. PS, maybe try to uncheck it, save, then check it again? Strange indeed. And I'm gettin' a little bit tired of it.
