Red Fish 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Cruise 'is Christ' of Scientology Tom Cruise is the new “Christ†of Scientology, according to leaders of the cult-like religion. The Mission: Impossible star has been told he has been “chosen†to spread the word of his faith throughout the world. And leader David Miscavige believes that in future, Cruise, 44, will be worshipped like Jesus for his work to raise awareness of the religion. A source close to the actor, who has risen to one of the church’s top levels, said: "Tom has been told he is Scientology’s Christ-like figure. Like Christ, he’s been criticised for his views. But future generations will realise he was right." Cruise joined the Church of Scientology in the ’80s. Leader L. Ron Hubbard claimed humans bear traces of an ancient alien civilisation. Kevin 3 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 Bowie did a great Pilate in 'The Last Temptation of Christ ' . I guess if poor Tom cracks up ( more ) now and dies , it'll be the Christians ( in the eyes of Scientologists ) who'll have the ' blood guilt ' on their hands and deserving of centuries of woe ... beware ! Blue Fish 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 Well, the Beatles were even more popular than Jesus ya know nah ah. No one ever died for the beatles. also, the beatles were/are WAY over rated...Jesus could never be over-rated and never be praised enough. as well as this, Jesus has/had more followers then the beatles did. _Laurie_ 7 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) Blue Fish, I think Elvy know this, she was just being sarcastic...and as for the Beatles, I agree with Seeker, too long of a discussion to get into, but Lennon's statement was very misunderstood.
