The Seeker
I've noticed that some of the songs that are newly added don't appear on any newsletters.
Farin
I noticed that too, for example my most recent submission "Light Years" btw, what I always wanted to know: how many songs do we have in the database? (and how many facts if there is a number)
Shawna
just taking a stab here, but the list of songs added to the database every month is astronomical, so I'm thinking trying to get them all in a newsletter would take up way too much space. Carl's giant list above doesn't even include all of the stuff that's been added just within the past couple of weeks. According to the most recent count (as of just now when I looked) there are 6404 sets of lyrics in SF. That does NOT count the amount of songfacts there are that don't have lyrics posted yet. So the number's pretty high and growing on a daily basis.

He also has the interviews and a plethora of other ancillary duties associated with this great hall of data we call Songfacts.
edna
Now I have a doubt... I am posting lyrics to the songs (I have plenty of free time this week) and I´m just googling them... I guess there´s no problem, I mean, I just copy and paste from the lyrics sites I find...
Mike
yeah, that's usually safe, but it's always a good practice to "cross-check" by getting two or three samples to make sure someone didn't make a boo-boo that you will be copying. Shawna
I audit the lyrics, so I usually catch any spelling errors, and I fix the ? symbols that pop up because of some code problem... but it definitely is a good idea to check the lyrics before you submit them. edna
That´s why I can´t submitt some rap song... I couldn´t check the lyrics because I just don´t understand what they say...

Mike
That´s why I can´t submitt some rap song... I couldn´t check the lyrics because I just don´t understand what they say... And understanding them is important because......
Carl
Thanks much for helping out with the lyrics. It's a big help to get them in before the newsletter comes out. We've been adding a lot of new songs, and I've been limiting the newsletter to about 150, which means it's falling behind. We didn't send one in December, so we'll probably put a big batch in the next one, which should go out in another week or so. Meanwhile, I'll try to preview more new ones here before the newsletter. Right now, there are something like 7100 songs in the database.
