Over 41 years ago, at precisely 7:00pm on December 9th. 1965 CBS aired what would be a Christmas classic for generations to come. A Charlie Brown Christmas.

The show was made on a shoestring budget, network executives were opposed to Linus reciting from the King James Bible (Lk 2:8-14) detailing the birth of Jesus.

Charles Schultz was adamant about keeping this scene in, remarking that "If we don't tell the true meaning of Christmas, who will?"

Half the TV's in America (15.4 million) were tuned to this show when it first aired, surprising the network executives with commercial and critical success.

A Charlie Brown Christmas won an Emmy and a Peabody award, and is considered by many to be a timeless holiday classic.
