I am the only person in the world who likes "My Humps", but that is not Grammy material, nor is ANYTHING by the Pussycat Dolls. Do not tell me they couldn't find any other decent pop songs to stick in there.

And come on, Janet Jackson, Lionel Richie????? Are the '80's back and no one told me? OK, to be fair, I've only heard one of Lionel's new songs and it didn't impress me. I haven't heard any of Janet's new stuff, but after "Rhythm Nation", she's been disappointing.

If you were from Texas and knew the Dixie Chicks, you'd know their songs for sure.   I really like them, and I say, "Take that, W."

Personally, that's my problem with the nomination. It's a political statement by the academy. Their new song is not good enough to be in the best record category, and as they've publicly disowned themselves from the genre of country music, it shouldn't be nominated for best country album. I like the Dixie Chicks, but the Grammys should be about music, not politics.

Then again, anything is better than the crapfest that is "You're Beautiful". I'm trying to take the Grammys seriously, and there are some very good songs and albums nominated, especially in the rock categories, but when it comes down to it, it's just the record companies trying to get their money earners more publicity.
