Farin
another good one: Springfield Wild Animal Park - "Born Free, Then Caged"
Shawna
The last one is the funniest one if you click on the link for the explanation. I didn't get it at first. I could have looked at that FOREVER and never figured it out. Makes me think the guy who made the list has entirely too much time. I'm still confused as to how he came up with that... skybluesky
I love that site. That dude posted a picture of Ryan Seacrest when he was all fat and what not.
Tenacious_Peaches
I proclaim, in my semi-betrunken state, that Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy is the greatest movie ever made.

Farin
Just stumbled across a list compiled by the British Film Institute called 50 films you should see by the age of 14 and I thought there were some quite interesting choices there... and I can't say that I've seen the whole list... not even from the Top Ten (not even mentioning what I've seen when I was 14 )
Uncle Joe
Nice Martin. I like it.
skybluesky
Night of the Hunter? Seriously? Robert Mitchum as a psychotic preacher should be viewed by the age of 14? It's a for sure must watch, but well after the age of 14.
Farin
yeah, quite a few of them seem pretty "heavy" on the subjects, that's what I found so peculiar about this list...
Ombre Vivante
Actually, with the way most pop films and videos nowadays border on the side of pornographic/senseless violence, I think of these movies as "mature" in the sense that it will try most kids' patience because of the severe lack of sex, drugs, and violence. I have seen most of those films, but the majority of them I got around to seeing well after I was 14. Coincidentally, I recently bought a UK dvd of Kes (this video never made it to North America). Years ago, I watched Walkabout with my little brother when he was 13 or 14, and he was really bored; he was cool about it and watched it all the way through, but I don't think he'd watch it again. Anyway, I also gave him my extra copy of Rebel Without A Cause - it's funny because I think everyone knows the James Dean persona and trademark look, yet very few have seen the film (myself, I got around to seeing it when I was 17 or 18, but have seen it over 20 times since then)
Steel2Velvet
For the past 6 months I've been working on imitating the low, gravelly/nasal voice of that movie trailer guy - you know, "He's back! And this time he's not alone!" The guy who seems to do almost all the trailer taglines. Though it kind of rakes my throat to do it for more then a few lines, my wife says I have it down perfectly now.

Carl
Did You Know: The first Hollywood movie released on DVD was Twister. It was also the last film released on the failed HD DVD format.
RyanTurtle
I also gave him my extra copy of Rebel Without A Cause - it's funny because I think everyone knows the James Dean persona and trademark look, yet very few have seen the film (myself, I got around to seeing it when I was 17 or 18, but have seen it over 20 times since then) I was just talking about this with my dad. It's the same with a lot of pop culture icons. Young people are obsessed with Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and James Dean but few have seen any of their movies (except for, possibly, Breakfast at Tiffany's). Carl
Cable has been out at my house for a month now. That sounds incredibly liberating. I just found out that Will Smith turned down the role of Neo in the Matrix movies.

Shawna
Thank God. I think I would have hated Will Smith if he'd played that role. And I love Will Smith. I don't want to have to hate him.
WildChild80
So what does everybody think of the up incoming remake of Footloose and now possible talks of a new Dirty Dancing? I knew Hollywood was out of ideas, but damn you think you would remake Mad Max or The Thing or something like that before these.
RockyRaccoon
I think that when they remake Footloose they should keep Kevin Bacon in the main role. And it's fully acknowledged that he's like 50 or whatever. But he's still in high school, hitting on the girls and whatnot. And then John Lithgow is still the bad guy. Everyone else should be totally age appropriate. Except the two of them.
WildChild80
Lol Rocky that's awesome! Since Chris Penn is dead(RIP) I think zombie Chris should come back and reprise his role(Willard) also and have aging Kevin Bacon teach him how to dance, but with like a limb falling off every now and then. Na seriously chk it out on youtube or Imdb it's already been done(trailer is out there) they got some new kid and others in tow. Big and Rich w/ Gretchen Wilson have a song out called "Fake Idea" which replaces over for the original John Melloncamp's "Hurts So Good" scene where the kids sneak across state lines...to Dance!! Only in the 80's! Edited August 10, 2011 by Guest
