In fact, they played that song at a Bootheel wedding reception last year and everyone just jammed out...well, except my husband. He looked at us all like we were nuts. And he's from the deeeeeep south (Mississippi) but a city boy for the most part

Although for years I thought it was a breakup song as well. And it does fit the mold, IMO.

I always figured Say it Ain't So was about something other then a relationship, some of the lyrics just don't fit, especially the last verse.

It's just weezer for you, they can make anything sound angst-ridden and love lorn.
