edna Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 "Always the sun" - The Stranglers. Video here. 80s. Amazing song. "The Stranger" - Leonard Cohen. Video here.
katie_sane Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) She's Got You - Patsy Cline (video) Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper (video) (Video doesn't do the song justice. The recorded version is a duet with Donovan) Edited November 13, 2006 by Guest
Kevin Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 " Working In a Coal Mine " - Devo " The Most Beautiful girl " - Charlie Rich
OLD 55 Posted November 13, 2006 Author Report Posted November 13, 2006 In The Ghetto - Elvis Presley (Just Like) Starting Over - John Lennon Goodnight All.
Judo Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Where Have All The Flowers Gone - The Kingston Trio Who Can Say - Enya
Farin Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Who Can Say - Enya could it be that you mean Enya's song "Only Time"? Who can say where the road goes, Where the day flows? Only time... And who can say if your love grows, As your heart chose? Only time...
Steel2Velvet Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Alright then, for you 30 - 40 somethings, one from the 80's and one from the 90's. You Make My Dreams Come True – Hall and Oates (fun video) The End Of The Line – Traveling Wilburys (video)
Judo Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Thank you Farin. You always come to my rescue Obviously I got the title wrong. I heard this song from a laptop burned borrowed CD that did not have a label nor track listings. Only know the artist to be Enya.
RonJonSurfer Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen Country Roads - John Denver
Farin Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) no worries, Judo! and my two nominations: Ode to my Family ~ The Cranberries (Video) Lead singer Dolores O'Riordan claims this is about her decision to become a rock star and the conflicts that decision caused with her parents and their Irish traditions. She sings it in a lullaby-like way as if reminiscing on her family back in Ireland. Self-Esteem ~ The Offspring (Video) When she's saying, oh, that she wants only me Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends When she's saying, oh, that I'm like a disease Then I wonder how much more I can spend Well, I guess I should speak up for myself But I really think it's better this way The more you suffer, the more it shows you really care Right? Yeah Edited November 13, 2006 by Guest see chris' post below
c_s_1987 Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Yay! For about the fourth or fifth time, I get to be the person who picks up on a song that has already made the top ten. Seven Nation Army was number 10 in top ten #25. The time it got 14 points was the first of two times it was nominated.
c_s_1987 Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 My nominations: MMMM MMMM MMMM MMMM - Crash Test Dummies Patience - Guns N' Roses
Farin Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 how embarrassing... okay, I'll change it...
Dappled Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Eight Miles High - The Byrds A Tribute to Buddy Holly - Mike Berry
Malakin Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Also, didn't John Lennon make a #1 with Imagine many moons ago?
c_s_1987 Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) No. If I remember correctly, Imagine was in second spot, one point behind All My Loving. I seem to be a sponge that absorbs all information relating to the top tens. Unfortunately, that memory seems to go on holiday whenever I'm at university. Edited November 13, 2006 by Guest
RonJonSurfer Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 You guys are scaring me. I'm still trying to remember where I put my corn muffin this morning.
