FNT
Hello. I'm new to the forums and, in fact, I joined so i could ask for help with a few songs. Any help will be greatly appreaciated. Please forgive any grammar/ortography mistake, English is not my 1st tongue. 1. In the past, I used to listen to certain song on the radio, apparently performed by a group. What I can remeber goes like this: [starts with the chorus] You took my breath away Now I see the thruth In your eyes - no lies. And love, such a sad affair, [can't remember this verse] The rest of the song included lyrics like: loving, hating, always waiting (...) each day I say: Nothing's gonna stop us going on and on and on... / For your love's what keeps me going, on and on and on I've been doing internet searches like crazy, but no word combination gives me results; even tough I often mishear lyrics, I always at least get some word combinations right, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I ignore the title and the artist/band, so I can only hope that someone identifies the words I have posted. 2. About 11 years ago, I heard (only once) a song in the radio. After so many years, I forgot everything about it, save the subject: it was a song dedicated to people who tried but failed. It was like singing "Hooray for the guy who didn't make it", though I doubt those exact words were used. The reason I dare to ask with so little information is because I always tought the song was quite odd, and that anybody else who had listened to it would probably remember something about it. 3. Well, my last case is similar to the second: years ago I heard a song that seemed a bit more like a narration, and seemed to be about a guy who found himself in a strange place and saw the devil on top of a volcano. He seemed to be afraid to have arrived to hell and apparently, he wanted to get away. I know I'm giving too little info, but I have got not results with search engines, so you are my only hope before giving up. Thanks in advance. Edited September 24, 2006 by Guest clarification... PSYCHOcatholic
The best thing you could do for the second song is Look at the top songs for that genre of music 11 years ago...you were 18? So, if you broke it down to what type of genre, male, female voice and IF you could remember what kind of station it was, it might help your search, im still searching for the third. I gave up on the first after looking at all the possible sites i could. Could you give a little more information on it? Im gonna ask my fiancee tomorrow if she knows anything about, shes more up on the music of today and stuff.
FNT
Gee, thank you, I'll follow your advice. The first is some kind of ballad. I could be wrong about some words, but I really doubt I misheard all of them. It confuses me a lot because, it's as if the song doesn't exist in the internet... The second song was sung by a male singer. Reminded me a bit of Barry Manilow, but I really doubt it was him. Style was probably Pop. I wish I knew more about any of the three songs, but the only thing that may be true about them is that they all could be quite old; at least the first might be from the 70s. I knew about all of them from a radio station specialized in old music (though they also aired modern music from time to time). Thanks agian, I'll keep searching. - And, yup I was 18 back then. FNT
I just had the chance to listen the song # 1 on the radio. I wish I could have recorded it. Here are the lyrics revised: (starts with orchesta playing loudly) You took my breath away Now I've seen the truth in your eyes, no lies And love, such a sad affair. No one (...) it's true(?) (...) Each day I say: Nothing's gonna stop us going, on and on and on. (...) my heart, won't stop. All your love keeps my heart going, Round and round and round. You took my breath away Now I've seen the truth in your eyes, no lies And love, such a sad affair. No one (...) it's true(?) Loving, hating, always waiting For a dream to come along My way and stay and play My heart, your heart (?), reaching new heights Now I've got someone to love Who'll never go away, hey! You took my breath away Now I've seen the truth in your eyes, no lies And love, such a sad affair. No one (...) it's true(?) (repeats and fades) Unfortunately, I still ignore the title and the singer(s)' name(s), and internet searches still give me no results. I'm afraid the lyrics might not be disclosed. Uncle Joe
#2..Here's To The Losers-Frank Sinatra? I'll go find the lyrics for you. Segal Arranged By: Marty Paich Album Title: The Reprise Collection, Disc 2 Label: Reprise Records Recorded: July 31, 1963 --------------------------------------------- Here's to those who love not too wisely, know not wisely, but too well To the girl who sighs with envy when she hears that wedding bell To the guy who'd throw a party if he knew someone to call Here's to the losers, bless them all Here's to those who drink their dinners when that lady doesn't show To the girl who'll wait for kisses underneath that mistletoe To the lonely summer lovers when the leaves begin to fall Here's to the losers, a-bless them all Hey, Tom, Dick and Harry, come in out of the rain Those torches you carry must be drowned in champagne Here's the last toast of the evening, here's to those who still believe All the losers will be winners, all the givers shall receive Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small Here's to the losers, bless them all MUSICAL INTERLUDE Hey, Tom, Dick and Harry, come in out of that rain Those torches you carry must be drowned in champagne Here's the last toast of the evening, here's to those who still believe All the losers will be winners, all the givers shall receive Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small Here's to the losers, here's to the losers, here's to the losers Bless them all! FNT
Whoa, thanks UncleJoe... The lyrics you posted seem to be from the song I once heard, but I'm a little puzzled, as I don't remember it being in that style (I heard some samples on the internet, they all have similar music, regardless of the singer). But other than that, that seems to be the song. Thanks again. -------------------------------------------- Edit: I forgot to mention to song #1 that it is sung by at least 2 male singers.
