Shawna
Hold Out ~ Jackson Browne Good song, Jane - great concert, too! I remember when he sang this song (he was married to Lynn Sweeney at the time - who eventually committed suicide), and he broke into tears while he was singing it. "I guess you wouldn't know it unless I told you - but, I love you. Just look at yourself - what else would I do?"
Sweet Jane 61
A guy I loved more than I ever thought possible played that for me...I just broke down when he did and then we saw Jackson in concert and I cried then too. Too bad the guy turned out to be a jerk!

The Seeker
Yes, thank you. It'll take more to change it to Don't Worry Be Happy, but for starters that's a very nice idea.

Shawna
Travis Tritt does a song that always makes me happy when I hear it: It's A Great Day To Be Alive I got rice cooking in the microwave Got a three day beard I don't plan to shave And it's a goofy thing but I just gotta say Hey I'm doing alright Yeah I think I'll make me some homemade soup Feelin pretty good and that's the truth It's neither drink nor drug induced No I'm just doin alright And it's a great day to be alive I know the sun's still shinin when I close my eyes There's some hard times in the neigborhood But why can't every day be just this good? It's been fifteen years since I left home Said good luck to every seed I'd sown Give it my best and then I left it alone Oh...I hope their doin alright Now I look in the mirror and what do I see? A lone wolf there starin back at me Long in the tooth but harmless as can be Lord I guess he's doin alright And it's a great day to be alive I know the sun's still shinin when I close my eyes There's some hard times in the neigborhood But why can't every day be just this good? Sometimes it's lonely Sometimes it's only me And the shadows that fill this room Sometimes I'm fallin Desperately callin Howlin at the moon... Ahwoo Ahwoo Well I might go get me a new tattoo Or take my old Harley for a three day cruise Might even grow me a Fu Man Chu... And it's a great day to be alive I know the sun's still shinin when I close my eyes There's some hard times in the neigborhood But why can't every day be just this good? blind-fitter
"Mardy Bum" - Arctic Monkeys Now then, Mardy Bum. I see your frown, And it's like looking down the barrel of a gun. And it goes off, And out come all these words. Oh, there's a very pleasant side to you, A side I much prefer. It's one that laughs and jokes around; Remember cuddles in the kitchen, Yeah, to get things off the ground? And it was up, up and away... Oh, but it's right hard to remember That on a day like today, when you're all argumentative And you've got a face on... Well, now then, Mardy Bum. Oh, I'm in trouble again, aren't I? I thought as much, 'Cos you turned over there Pulling that silent disappointment face; The one that I can't bear. Can't we laugh and joke around? Remember cuddles in the kitchen, Yeah, to get things off the ground? And it was up, up and away... Oh, but it's right hard to remember That on a day like today, when you're all argumentative And you've got a face on. Yeah, I'm sorry I was late. Well I missed the train And then the traffic was a state. And I can't be arsed to carry on in this debate That reoccurs... oh, when you say I don't care... Well, of course I do, yeah, I clearly do! So laugh and joke around, Remember cuddles in the kitchen Yeah, to get things off the ground. And it was up, up and away... Still it's right hard to remember That on a day like today when you're all argumentative, And you've got a face on...
Sweet Jane 61
Back Stabbers ~ The O'Jays I know the lyrics talk about a man and his friends who want his woman, but it can apply to people you know and not about a love relationship.
