"Time in a Bottle" Jim Croce

"Margaritaville" Jimmy Buffet

"I Can See Clearly Now" Johnny Nash (I'm not sure on that name)

"Nobody Does It Better" Rita Coolidge

I don't know if you are putting any disco stuff in there, but "How Deep Is Your Love?" may qualify.

Looking back on the decade...

What a wild ride to get to this point, with this '79 release

I agree, I love Classic Tom, it's a good arrangement of Rock Tunes, and in my opinion one of the best of the latter part of the decade, but Damn the Torpedos was the peak point in his career, I still own the original vinyl.

Which starts out with those ludicrous lyrics "Daddy was a cop on the east side of Chicago?"

(In other words, daddy's beat was Lake Michigan!)

I guess thats why daddy didnt die, he could not get to the fight in time. Its hard to move fast in a wet wool uniform....

MUSICAL INTERLUDE:

"la la la, la la la

Didn't know what time it was,

the lights were low-oh-oh

I leaned back on my radio-oh-oh

Some cat was layin' down

some rock 'n' roll, 'lotta soul', he said

Then the loud sound did seem to fade

Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase

That weren't no D.J., that was hazy cosmic jive

There's a Starman waiting in the sky

He'd like to come and meet us

But he thinks he'd blow our minds

There's a Starman waiting in the sky

He's told us not to blow it

Cause he knows it's all worthwhile

He told me,

"'Let the children lose it

Let the children use it

Let all the children boogie"
