Sea and River otters mate for life and are like cats when it comes to being close. Ever see how cats will groom each other? Or how they lay down beside each other just to be close? Otters would rub up against your leg too if they could. By holding each other they don't float apart. Simple... and by the way: you're welcome for ruining the cuteness!
