Tenacious_Peaches
"Institutionalized" by Suicidal Tendencies I love that song. "All I wanted was a Pepsi...just one Pepsi...and she wouldn't give it to me!" I say that all the time when Mr. Peaches won't serve me my Pepsi in a timely manner. I know this is a serious subject and I'll be quiet now. Carry on.

skybluesky
How could I forget my favorite song-They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha Ha? That really isn't my favorite song, it's "Losing My Religion-R.E.M., which is more about feeling like you are going crazy than it is exactly about a specific mental illness. Ken
The Ballad of Dwight Fry Alice Cooper Mommy where's daddy? He's been gone for so long. Do you think he'll ever come home? I was gone for fourteen days I coulda been gone for more Held up in the intensive care ward lyin on the floor I was gone for all those days but I, was not all alone I made friends with a lot of people in the danger zone See my lonely life unfold I see it every day See my only mind explode Since I've gone away I think I lost some weight there and I--- I'm sure I need some rest Sleepin don't come very easy in a straight white vest Should like to see that little children She's only four years old--- old I'd give her back all of her play things even, even the ones I stole See my lonely life unfold I see it everyday See my lonely mind explode when I've gone insane I wanna get out of here I wanna, I wanna get out of here I gotta get out of here I gotta get out of here IgottagetoutahereIgottagetoutahereIgottagetoutahere Ya gotta let me out of here Let me outta here I gotta get outta here Let me outta here I gotta get outta here Let me outta here I gotta get outta here See my lonely life unfold I see it everyday See my only mind explode Blow up in my face I grabbed my hat and I got my coat and I, I ran into the street I saw a man that was choking there I guess he couldn't breathe Said to myself this is very strange I'm glad it wasn't me But now I hear those sirens callin' and so I am not free I DIDN'T WANNA BE I DIDN'T WANNA BE I DIDN'T WANNA BE (See my lonely life unfold) I DIDN'T WANNA BE (I see it every day) LEAVE ME ALONE I DIDN'T WANNA BE DON'T TOUCH ME! See my lonely mind explode when I've gone INSAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNE!
Chris Akanora
"They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Ha" by Napoleon XIV is extensively written up on songfacts. "Angie Baby" by Helen Reddy is about a girl who may be insane or may be in touch with another dimension. "Crazy" by Patsy Cline isn't really about mental illness, but got airplay in 90s films such as "Nell" and "Field of Dreams" to indicate that others might think someone is crazy, whether or not they really are. The Manic Street Preachers' "Tsunami" is about June and Jennifer Gibbons.

Skuff
The Real Me -- The Who Four Faces -- The Who Whiskey Man -- The Who Oh, Crap, The Seeker got ME! If anyone wants to know why "Whiskey Man Is about mental illness, here are the lyrics: The Who Whiskey Man Whiskey Man's my friend, he's with me nearly all the time He always joins me when I drink, and we get on just fine Nobody has ever seen him, I'm the only one Seemingly I must be mad, Insanity is fun If that's the way it's done Doctors say he just a figment of my twisted mind If they can't see my Whiskey Man they must be going blind Two men dressed in white collected me two days ago They said there's only room for one and Whiskey Man can't go Whiskey Man will waste away if he's left on his own I can't even ring him 'cause he isn't on the phone Hasn't got a home Life is very gloomy in my little padded cell It's a shame there wasn't room for Whiskey Man as well Whiskey Man's my friend, he's with me nearly all the time He always joins me when I drink, and we get on just fine Just fine

Uncle Joe
"Somebody's Watching Me" - Rockwell Did you know that Rockwell is the son of Motown mogul Berry Gordy? I didn't know it until I read Gordy's book, "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown". Weird dude that Rockwell.
daslied
I did know that, and it made sense. Michael Jackson did all of the actual singing on that song while Rockwell just talked. Yay for nepotism!
