The Seeker
The artistfacts say that the Small Faces played from 65 to 78, and without wanting to be overly fussy, that's not correct and they should be listed as two different bands, the Small Faces and the Faces. After Marriott left, they did release another album as the Small Faces (but with a different line-up), but afterwards they were only the Faces and a very different group from the Small Faces. So maybe it'd be possible to split that up into two different bands and artistfacts?
The Seeker
Hello?
Carl
Sorry about the delay Seek. I'll try to sort it this weekend. I agree that the bands were very different, it's a matter of having enough Artistfacts for both.
The Seeker
Ok, I just thought maybe noone had noticed my post at all... Well, it seems to me that there are much less artistfacts for the Small Faces than for the Faces, so I just added some. I hope they'll be of some help. And thank you! The Seeker
I just noticed they;re still one entry, and while I got used to that, someone removed the "The Faces" bit... there's only one single entry for "The Small Faces" now. If they can;t be two separate entries, could someone please at least put something like The Small Faces/The Faces? They're really not the same band by any means. Farin
I think that would be the same as having Joy Division and New Order in one entry, right? btw, to be even more picky... shouldn't it really be "Faces" and "Small Faces" (without "the")? The Seeker
My knowledge of Joy Vision and New Order is more than limited, but yes, I think so... And yes, no The. Thanks.
Farin
Joy Division consisted of Ian Curtis, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris and Bernard Sumner after Curtis' suicide the three remaining members "reformed" as New Order
The Seeker
Ah okay, thank you. Yes... like that.
The Seeker
That article is still one entry... and even if it's because there aren't enough facts, it's still only listed as Small Faces. No trace of the Faces.
Farin
don't you have some facts for either?
The Seeker
I already added some more facts for the Small Faces... I think a lot of artists have fewer facts in the database than those two bands would now. But I'll see if I can submit something this weekend
The Seeker
Submitted some. In hindsight, maybe I should've added my source so whoever adds them to the database won't have to spend too much time verifying the facts... so in case anyone who's in charge of the Small Faces facts reads this, I got them all from "Steve Marriott: All Too Beautiful" by John Hellier and Paolo Hewitt. (don't buy that book by the way, unless you're really interested in Steve Marriott... it's very very very badly written (tenses change from one sentence to the next, for instance, even though they belong together and are part of the same little anecdote), and loads of important facts are just left out... hardly any dates, and a lot of singles and albums aren't mentioned at all, or just in passing )
Carl
Thanks Seeker. We'll keep an eye on that and appreciate the source - saves us lots of work.
