Which year is the most popular? To find out I listed all songs that placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in our 26 top tens. Not surprisingly it's 1967 with 13 songs in the top. Here's the complete list:

1 song

2 songs

1 song

1 song

2 songs

3 songs

5 songs

5 songs

13 songs

10 songs

3 songs

9 songs

7 songs

3 songs

5 songs

1 song

2 songs

1 song

2 songs

1 song

1 song

IMO musically the 60s comprise the years 1963 - 1972. The most memorable songs were recorded in those years. 60 out of 78 songs are from that "decade"!
