Songs for your family.

Ok I thought of this after a discussion here at work. Think of your family memebers and what song fits them...we all think of someone when we hear a song.

My Dad ~ Sailing ~ Chris Cross...My Dad loved his boat and I think of him everytime I hear this song.

My Mom ~ Old Time Rock and Roll ~ Bob Seger... She just keeps on rockin' at 78! She still dances at receptions and stuff!!

My Brother ~ Rock and Roll All Nite ~ Kiss...he is the biggest Kiss fan I know. Drove 4 hours to see one of their reunion tours. And he doesn't sleep well so he does rock and roll all night!

My little girl ~ In My Daughter's Eyes ~ Martina McBride...the lyrics fit perfect to what I feel everytime I look a my baby.

My Man ~ Tulsa Time ~ Eric Clapton...it fits him to a tee!!

"My mother says Im crazy,

My baby calls me lazy,

But Im gonna show them all this time

cause you know I aint no fool and

I dont need no more damn schoolin.

I was born to just walk the line."

Good topic, Jane. Let's see...

My dad...

"Sounds of Silence" ~ Simon and Garfunkel

when we were all little (between 6 and 10 years old) my dad used to listen to Simon and Garfunkel on his reel-to-reel tape player (a machine he has to this day, and it still works). This was his favorite song.

My mom...

"Wooden Heart" ~ Elvis

My mom loved Elvis, and this was her favorite song.

Both my parents...

"Paradise By The Dashboard Light" ~ Meatloaf

Because of the beat, my parents used to request this song at every party so they could dance that great '50s style dancing.

My brother...

"Isn't It Time" ~ Babys

He'd probably kill me for this one, but I'd never heard of this band way back when, and he loved, loved, loved this particular song off their first album. He's way beyond that now.

My sister...

"Moondance" ~ Van Morrison

Because she's a great dancer, and this is her favorite song of all time.

My son...

"Lullabye" ~ Dixie Chicks

This is off their latest album, and it expresses how I feel toward my son perfectly:

"How long do you want to be loved?

Is forever enough, is forever enough..."

For my son. Bob Seger's "In Your Time".

In your time

The innocence will fall away

In your time

The mission bells will toll

All along

The corridors and river beds

There'll be signs

In your time

Towering waves

Will crash across your Southern capes

Massive storms

Will reach your Eastern shores

Fields of green

Will tumble through your summer days

By design

In your time

Feel the wind

And set yourself the bolder course

Keep your heart

As open as a shrine

You'll sail the perfect line

And after all

The dead ends and the lessons learned

After all

The stars have turned to stone

There'll be peace

Across the Great unbroken void

All benign

In your time

You'll be fine

In your time
