invisible_r
according to the radio, they are the next big thing, so I decided to check them out. Let's just say their sound is interesting, quite raw and different to everything else around at the moment. I find myself quite liking "Jack the ripper". myspace link and read this, I found it quite interesting times online article
blind-fitter
Thanks for the tip-off there, Invis. I've seen their mugs glowering at me from adverts, newsagents, etc. and thought, "Here we go again; another bunch of hapless plonkers being touted by the NME...". But surprise, surprise, (the unexpected hits you between the thighs)...this sounds quite my cup of tea. A psychobilly / horror-punk revival in 2006. Who'd've thought it? I don't know about that stuff in the article on "Finally a new band that parents can hate". Don't they realise that many parents of todays teens lived thru' punk / goth / psycho-garage, and might have dug The Cramps, The Birthday Party, The Meteors, The Damned, etc.? My bin-lids are a bit on the young side but I'd be well chuffed if they were into this sort of thing a bit later on. (As far as my daughter (7) is concerned, the omens look quite promising.) It's quintessential rock'n'roll.
