bazooka Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 bazook assures me I am he. I got to feeling vanilla here for a while and moved into other realms. But spasmodic incursions might happen at any time.

Carl Posted October 21, 2015 Report Posted October 21, 2015 This got Jimi Hendrix banned from the BBC and inspired Elvis Costello to do something similar 8 years later:http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xu6fyo_jimi-hendrix-lulu-show-1969_music

Carl Posted December 4, 2015 Report Posted December 4, 2015 The one he did with Buddy Rich is better, but the drum off between Animal and Dave Grohl at the end of this clip is solid.

Carl Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 Our Tuesday Trivia question was:What '80s hit has a 3-word title entirely in Spanish? We were looking for "La Isla Bonita" by Madonna, but someone suggested this one: "Yo No Se" by Pajama Party. This was from a time in the late '80s when you had Freestyle groups comprised of three girls, with two of them doing very little. The hilarious part is the choreography, which in this case is exceptionally bad. This apparently was done on a cable access show, and is clearly lip-synched. The production value is actually really good for 1989.
Otokichi Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) Thirty years ago, Kelly DeLima formed "Kapena," a "Brownbags to Stardom" contest Kaimuki high school band that went on to bigger and better things. Brothers Tivaini and Teimomi Tatofi returned to Tonga to start families, and Kelly eventually got his kids to play. A reunion happened recently, and local music program "Hi Sessions" recaptured that old Reggae magic.Who/what is "Kapena"?What is "Masese" about? So, what else did Kapena do? Edited June 4, 2016 by Otokichi I'm not a big Kapena fan, so I had to look for details. Carl 1
Carl Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 And I'll raise you Les Paul doing "Mack The Knife."
Carl Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 Sure, the White Stripes did the married couple, guy singer-guitarist, girl drummer thing first, but Meg didn't tapdance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVoF4waAfDA
