I love that this exists on the internet. It's a promotional video sent to TV stations to promote Madonna's 2-minute Pepsi commercial where she would debut her song "Like A Prayer."

TV stations would typically use these to piece together a story, having a local reporter or anchor voice it over.

The two interviews prove why you should be wary of guys in suits. The Billboard exec fawns all over it, barfing up jargon about paradigm shifts. The Pepsi exec, trying to say that Madonna appeals to a young, contemporary audience, actually uses the word "with-itness" to describe her fans.

The commercial was actually very good, and the marketing ploy was destined for greatness until the next day when Madonna released the full video on MTV. The one where she dances in front of burning crosses.

Ronnie Dio and the Red Caps Turns out God of Metal Ronnie James Dio was a teenage crooner in 1961.

Love the Pauly D haircut. Didn't Spinal Tap start out this way?

Here's Stevie Wonder on Sesame Street. The guy in the back playing bass is Scott Edwards. Had a long talk with him yesterday, where he explained that he didn't even notice the puppets... when you play with Stevie, you have to watch Stevie the whole time to pick up the changes.

I generally don't believe in CGI animals or posting links to videos that already have over a million views, but this is so damn adorable:

Never thought much of this song, but you have to give the video credit as the precursor to all those Gap and iPod ads that used a white background.

Toto hated doing videos, and in this clip, you can see why.

Hoping this will wash away the Breadfish.

Researching our interview with bass player Scott Edwards, and came across this one he played on as part of Rhythm Heritage.

As part of this Bandstand crowd, see if you can spot:

1) They guy in the beard who is way too old to be out there.

2) The guy doing Disco moves on an 8-second loop.

3) The Star-Bellied Sneech.

Low Spark of High Heeled Boys - Traffic

This could never happen today - not the live performance, but a 10 minute song getting played on the radio. It requires a snitch of patience and a tolerance for open space in the musical spectrum where not every frequency is filled at all times.

Not sure how long this one will stay online, but it's part of the Jim Steinman story of excess and extremes. With his Bat Out Of Hell money, Steinman (Meat Loaf's songwriter), poured $1 million or so into a girl group called Pandora's Box and commissioned this video - they probably could have set the money on fire and gotten better results:

The song - "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" - was a huge hit, but not for Pandora's Box. Celine Dion took it to #2 in 1996.
