Carl
With Nevermind getting reissued, let's look back on Nirvana's 1992 MTV Video Music Awards appearance. Note how they start playing "Rape Me," which they had been forbidden to play. What you won't see: Kurt Cobain checking out of rehab so he could play the show, and Axl Rose getting in a backstage kerfuffle with Kurtney. c_s_1987
Good to see this thread is still being used. This song has been #1 on the Australian charts for 8 weeks and counting. If you think all #1 singles these days have no artistic merit and sound pretty much the same, have a listen to this and you might be pleasantly surprised. Carl
That's quite a piece of music - and video. Looks like it's not being promoted in America, which is a shame. That's one of those great hooks - "Now you're just somebody that I used to know."
Carl
5 minutes of Mick Fleetwood telling war stories with a young singer named Nicole Atkins. Sounds like Fleetwood Mac were close to getting busted along with the Grateful Dead, which would have got them deported:
bluesboy
1973 was a magical year for the Wailers... international recognition, U.S. record label, Bob Marley emerging in a more prominent role, the deluxe high harmonies of Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. Farin
The Garden ~ Einstürzende Neubauten allegedly the admittedly interesting lyrics are coming from an elderly English woman talking to her companion who Blixa Bargeld overheard in the Prado in Madrid... Schmit, who talks about how they were rehearsing him while the Grammy Awards were going on. Check out this clip from the ceremony, where Andy Williams seems genuinely surprised that the Eagles aren't there to pick up their award.
