Calling all Stones fans!

No matter how old the Rolling Stones are, they certainly can't be accused of shying away from technology. The band has become the first to utilize a new technology called Listen Live Now! so that fans can dial up a phone number and listen to the Stones perform live on their current European tour. The live fee-cast will begin today, July 28, at the Rolling Stones' Paris show and continue through their September 3 concert in Denmark. Fans can tune in from any phone (mobile or land line) and listen live for a fee of $1.99 per seven-minutes. The live feed comes directly from the soundboard.

Here's how it works: as Listen Live Now! events are scheduled, customers logging on to the service's Web site (ListenLiveNow.com) will be provided with options of artists, venues and times to which they may dial a number initiating a seven minute feed of an event of their choice. "It's a great thing for the artists," artist manager Marty Erlichman told Reuters. "It's passive income, and they're helping fans enjoy the experience without affecting ticket sales."

Sounds like They Might Be Giants old "Dial-A-Song" technology, except I think that was free.

You don't think the Stones are going to do anything for free do you? That's one of the reasons they just keep going, and going, and going....

Another reason, they do always stay on top of technology, and moving ahead with the times. Works for them! :)
