Danielj
Freedom stabs men in the back While Liberty holds women to the corners And Justice covers the windows and doors With red white and blue Freedom Kills And just like the first kings and queens Freedom is always self-proclaimed When are you ever in full control? When are we ever really free in body, or soul?
edna
I love it, Daniel... It´s amazing, you´re so young... Will you dedicate your picture to me in ten years?
Steel2Velvet
I have delayed commenting on this piece, Daniel, because I was having trouble finding a place for it in my heart. I am a big believer in individualism and the undeniable diginty in self-expression. Compelled, however, I kept coming back and rereading. I knew it was well written, the first time I read it. My confliction was not even in the content. But for me, finding an application is essential in poetry (or lyrics) that I really WANT to like. Now I know where this slides into my heart. Now I know what this, for me, is about; and in that knowledge, this piece births instantly to life - is viable and breathing. I cannot abort your truth in these lines any further. You have written, from saving awareness, an anthem.
