Carl Posted November 28, 2003 Report Share Posted November 28, 2003 We were close to getting some real good Songfacts on "Brown Eyed Girl," but for some reason we didn't. From what I can remember, Van hated the song. He put it together as a pop confection to prove he could sell albums if he wanted to, but chose artistic integrity instead. This came after his album Astral Weeks , which is considered a classic, but caused some problems when it was released. If anyone knows more, please post.
