Tenacious_Peaches
I will be a rebel and not agree with anyone, just to be ornery. The first thing I thought of was "A Girl Like You" by Edwin Collins. I know it doesn't have a Latin beat and the lyrics aren't just right, but I suppose it could fit the bill. Click and scroll down to listen to a sample A Girl Like You Edwyn Collins I've never known a girl like you before Now just like in a song from days of yore Here you come a knockin', knockin' at my door And I've never met a girl like you before You give me just a taste so I want more and more Now my hands are bleeding and my knees are raw Now you've got me crawlin', crawlin' on the floor And I've never met a girl like you before You've made me acknowledge the devil in me I hope to God I'm talkin' metaphorically Hope that I'm talkin' allegorically Know that I'm talkin' about the way I feel And I've never known a girl like you before Never, never, never, never Never known a girl like you before This old town's changed so much Don't feel like I belong Too many protest singers Not enough protest songs And now you've come along Yes you've come along And I've never met a girl like you before
Earth-Angel
Aah but I thought of that first too, but because there was no specified Latin beat, I immediately discredited it You love me, really.

bazooka
Enhancing The Trivia Dept: When Latin funk and Latin rock had its brief moment in the sun during the '70s, a number of groups emerged. Most were imitation Santanas, but at least Malo could boast that it had a real Santana in the lineup. Carlos Santana's brother Jorge Santana headed Malo, and he possessed a little of his brother's vocal sound. Unfortunately, he didn't have enough to keep Malo going more than a few years. Their debut LP for Warner Bros. reached number 14 on the pop charts, but it was all downhill from there. The single Suavecito peaked at number 18 pop. They got very little attention from R&B or funk fans. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
