Welcome Mr. & Mrs. Mindcrime ! Seeing as you put so much effort into choosing your Ten, we'll certainly count them. We look forward to having you as regular members of our Top Ten.

:)

We reserve the right to allow inclusions of Top Tens of new and regular members who may have missed nominating. Of course if someone only nominates sporadically, they can't expect to vote when they haven't nominated.

:P

This is shaping up to be a very close Top Ten again. :drummer:

Could we have our first non 60s/70s #1 ???

Could we have our first female #1 ???

STILL TO VOTE:

bluesboy

Brad

Sweet Jane

Here's something that truly sucks, which I just realized: some of the songs posted on other lists are songs that I really like, and just never knew the names of them.

(I don't know whether this one was ever nominated, but) an example would be "Instant Karma" by John Lennon. I love that song, but until a little while ago I was completely unaware what the name was.

1. Live and Let Die

2. San Francisco(Be sure to put some flowers in your hair) Is this a one hit wonder? Did Scott Mckenzie do anything else of consequence?

3. The Rose. At the last graduation of the last high school I taught at before a new consolidated school was built a young lady that was on my track team sang this and brought me to tears.

4. Eli's Coming. Hard driving rock.

5. Nobody Does It Better. A great song by a beautiful lady.

6. Black Water. Nice southern rock by a "Biker" band.

7. Can't You See. Another southern (cowboy) rock.

8. Crocodile Rock. I believe the year was '72. I was headed to Atlanta, Georgia and the Peach Bowl game.

9. Late In The Evening.

10. Dream A Little Dream Of Me. A great talent whose life was cut way too short.

rtstuff

"Eli's coming hide your heart girl." 3-Dog Night.

1. Just A Little - The Beau Brummels ( It's not like you are going to hear this song much. It peaked at number 8 in early 1965)

2. Late In The Evening - Paul Simon

3. Raspberry Beret - Prince and The Revolution

4. Tired of Being Alone - Al Green

5. Brick House - Commodores

6. Can't You See - The Marshall Tucker Band

7. Mellow Yellow - Donovan

8. Chain Of Fools - Aretha Franklin

9. You Can Leave Your Hat On - Joe Cocker ( Prefer Randy Newman's original, but Joe can pretty much do no wrong in my book)

10. Lay Lady Lay - Bob Dylan

I had Come Undone (Duran Duran) confused with Undone by The Guess Who. The Guess Who song would have scored high with me. I'm glad I double-checked.
