The_Coz
Well, the early 90s were full of Tecnho/rap acts. 2 Unlimited, Technotronic, Dee-Lite all had those rappers with the REALLY deep voices rhyming about sweat, and how they'd make it come out of you in buckets. *shudders* I am so glad that fad ended. But as far as Trance and House, I'm not a big fan. If one crosses over into the Mainstream like "Sandstorm" or "Children" I'll listen to it, but I don't seek it out. But Electronic music as a whole isn't without merit (merrit? Frig, how do you spell that?). Moby, Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, Prodigy are all great Break Beat bands. Though break beat has more in common with traditional rock structure then Trance. And there's Trip Hop, which is an amazing genre. Massive Attack, Faithless, Poe, Portishead Morcheeba. Cool Electronic Film Noir stuff. Can't go wrong there.

patrick46810
Yeah those lyrics suck, but techno/dance isn't about the lyrics so what do you expect? Most of the good DJs employ lead singers from other popular bands to do their vocals, maybe you simply heard a crappy song.
Getto
If you can't see the muso's playing, then it's not real !! :guitar: Techno keeps DJ's with computers popular, it takes a bit of skill but nowhere near as much as live music !!
