They have to know how to finesse and help raise the music to a higher leve. Having said that...here are my thoughts. John Bonham Neil Peart Mike Portnoy Buddy Rich Steve Gadd Thomas Lang Some lesser knowns but still among the best: Dom Famularo Kim Plainfield Jason Bittner (of Shadows Fall - hear him solo) You been learned now.
