CanAm
This was, for me, by far the most difficult selection. I could easily have picked 20 songs from this fabulous list!! After careful consideration, however, I have whittled it down to these 10 songs: 1. All My Loving - My favourite Beatles tune. 2. California Dreamin' - The Mamas & The Papas. IMO, the greatest folk/rock song of all time. 3. Ohio - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. One of the best protest songs of the rock era. 4. Abraham, Martin & John - Dion 5. La Grange - ZZ Top 6. S.O.S. - I'm not a big ABBA fan, but I love this song. 7. Here Comes My Baby - The Tremeloes. 8. Garden Party - Ricky Nelson 9. 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) - Simon & Garfunkel 10. Money For Nothing - Dire Straits I would have included I Say A Little Prayer in my top 10 if it had been Dionne Warwick's version.

c_s_1987
I agree, this was a hard selection. Though I still put my nominations at 1 and 2 : 1. High Hopes - Pink Floyd 2. My Happiness - Powderfinger 3. Imagine - John Lennon 4. Money For Nothing - Dire Straits 5. Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode 6. Down Under - Men At Work 7. All My Loving - The Beatles 8. Love Reign O'er Me - The Who 9. Lust For Life - Iggy Pop 10. What I Like About You - The Romantics I have a feeling this one is going to be close - I can see Imagine and All My Loving should be near the top, but otherwise I'm not sure. Lucky
This is the most mixed up top ten I've come up with. It's all over the place...and its not sad! I did not put Imagine in...it would most certainly have been #1, but it is in the regular top ten quite a lot. So..... 1. Mockingbird ~ Carly Simon and James Taylor 2. 96 Tears ~ ? & The Mysterians 3. 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin Groovy) ~ Simon and Garfunkel 4. Work Song ~ Paul Butterfield Blues Band 5. Love Reign O'er Me ~ The Who 6. All My Lovin ~ The Beatles 7. California Dreamin ~ Mamas and the Papas 8. La Grange ~ Z Z Top 9. Garden Party ~ Rick Nelson and the Stone Canyon Band 10. Only You Know and I Know ~ Dave Mason
