Sweet Jane 61
A Mother’s Legacy, Her Love From the beginning you have held my hand Whether to guide me or comfort me Soft-spoken your words have always been Relying on your amazing strength from within. Advising me of the ways of the world With young innocence I adhere to your words even when my adolescence wisdom came along You’d smile and wipe away my tears when I was wrong. As we both grew through the years friends we became My hand now the stronger of the two Your motherly love I pass down with pride A small hand I now comfort and guide. Earth-Angel
As we both grew through the years friends we became My hand now the stronger of the two Your motherly love I pass down with pride A small hand I now comfort and guide. That is beautiful and sad and profound, SweetJane That is something that really scares me, knowing that every year older I am, so is my mum I don't know what I would do without her, she is all I have left

Sweet Jane 61
EA...thanks. My Mom is everything to me and my little girl. Thanks Gis, my Mom just came home from Florida where she spends the winter and I realized she is getting older and time is flying by. How I wish I could make it slow down. I only hope I am half the Mom she is, she is a precious wonderufl lady.
Jenny
My eyes are all watery now, Jane. Earth Angel quoted my favorite stanza. I only have one child to raise and my mother had three. I have her, my dad and my mother-in-law, she had no one, since her parents and in-laws all lived overseas. I can't even imagine my life without her or my dad.... Sweet Jane 61
Jenny, I am happy you like the poem. Parents are something we should cherish, time goes fast and they will not always be with us. And we need to give our children all the love we have and give them a wonderful life. Steel2Velvet
A moving tribute, Jane. I appreciate your sensitivity and devotion. How the attitude of child toward parent changes from, "Don't tell me how to live!" to, "Don't leave, quite yet ..." is one of the most profound stages in the process of maturation. Lucky
Oh April, you've made me cry. In a good way. I no longer have my mom around, and this just reminded me of what I had. Thanks.
