He, to me, is what rock and roll radio is all about. Some of my fondest memories are of listening to him on KMET in the late 70's, early 80's. When I feel nostalgic, or when something major has happened in the world, I can always count on Jim to have a custom made show that is often thought provoking and always heartfelt since he is still on the air here in LA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Ladd I was lucky to live in Glendale during the late '60s- early '70s, close enough to get Kppc and listen to B. The summer of 66 is one of my fondest memories from my youth and 71 was the year I graduated from Marshall U. Great,great tunes from your list. Man I am glad I grew up during those times. afroceltduck Posted July 3, 2006 Report Share Posted July 3, 2006 A month or two ago here in Eugene, Oregon, a popular local DJ at our "classic rock" station KZEL 96.1 locked himself in the studio for a week. He played all the songs the station has, alphabetically. His stand worked and the station was saved, all because of the support of the listeners. The station is better than ever, although I think they could stand to reduce the number of times they play certain songs in a week. Rose Posted July 5, 2006 Report Share Posted July 5, 2006 Man, I'm only 16, and I haven't had the privilage to listen to REALLY good radio, like some of you have. I still know what you all are saying though. Music today just doesnt have the quality that it did back then. There was something magical about the music from the 60's, and the 70's. There was a real quality and depth and talent to it. Im so glad my dad introduced me to it! x) (I feel like a newbie!)
