Elvish
My baby sister is going to be 21 in a few short months I'm looking at making a compilation CD for her of drinking songs, especially country ones since she's such a fan of that genre. So far, I have: "Family Tradition" Hank Williams Jr "Drinkin' My Baby Goodbye" Charlie Daniels Band "Gotta Get Drunk" Willie Nelson I know there are sooo many more country drinking songs out there, and some in other genres that she may enjoy. Hit me, y'all

Farin
farin, altogether now "wir lieben das leben, die liebe und die lust..." Not a bad song for when you're drunk, but too carnivalish for my taste My thoughts were more along the lines "eisgekühlter Bommerlunder, Bommerlunder eisgekühlt..." SoulGirl
yes, i realised it's a koelner song after a added the post! i know that song too! you know, there's a few german drinking songs that took the melodies of irish songs! there's some excellent irish drinking songs by the way, but i don't think they'd be quite what you're looking for elvy! the dubliners, the pogues and luke kelly are the best for them. the best one in the irish language is 'An Poc ar Buile' - it's great fun! bazooka
... gotta include One Scotch, One Whiskey, and One Beer-George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers. When you are sober that song is titled One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer. It is a John Lee Hooker composition, greatly improved upon by George Thorogood. ( I know. Eveybody funny. Now, you funny, too ! )
Otokichi
How about some very old tunes celebrating liquor? "Bottle of Wine" performed by The Fireballs. Whiskey: "John Barleycorn Must Die" performed by Traffic. When the hangover hits: "Early Morning Rain" performed by Gordon Lightfoot. After the mug shots: "I Fought The Law" performed by the Bobby Fuller Four (I think).
