Sweet Jane 61
The Spinners tune "Love Don't Love Nobody" the album version from the "Mighty Love" album. This is one of my favorite Spinners songs and it hits you in your heart, but when the spoken part comes on, I cry, never fails every time I hear the song. I love classic rock, but my soul is in R & B, love to listen and just feel the music. Can we just talk for a minute, like I always said, I'm not much of a rapper, but the truth I've learned from the time I was a child you see I know from experience that baby you can't color a thought and you sure can't touch an emotion... love, true love is to the bone to the soul where hearts the home and I just got to explain to you honey how I feel 'cause you see I've been a fool and now I love ya. Then it goes into the chorus...just beautiful!
Tenacious_Peaches
I love classic rock, but my soul is in R & B, love to listen and just feel the music. Preach it, sister! I feel the same way.

WalterMitty
U2 - Bullet the Blue Sky [spoken section .......] This guy comes up to me His face red like a rose on a thorn bush Like all the colors of a royal flush And he's peeling off those dollar bills Slapping them down One hundred, two hundred And I can see those fighter planes And I can see those fighter planes Across the mud huts where the children sleep Through the alleys of a quiet city street You take the staircase to the first floor Turn the key and slowly unlock the door As a man breathes into a saxophone And through the walls you hear the city groan Outside is America Outside is America Across the field you see the sky ripped open See the rain through a gaping wound Pounding on the women and children Who run Into the arms Of America
Dappled
Traffic's Hole In My Shoe has a spoken part done by a young girl. I looked in the sky where an elephant's eye Was looking at me from a bubblegum tree And all that I knew was the hole in my shoe Which was letting in water (letting in water) (letting in water) I walked through a field that just wasn't real With one hundred tin soldiers which stood at my shoulder And all that I knew was the hole in my shoe Which was letting in water (letting in water) (letting in water) (Spoken: I climbed on the back of a giant albatross That flew through a crack in the cloud To a place where happiness reigned all year round And music played ever so loudly) I started to fall and suddenly woke And the dew on the grass had soaked through my coat And all that I knew was the hole in my shoe Which was letting in water (letting in water) (letting in water)
bazooka
Not really a song, but at the end of the (early middle period) Fleetwood Mac album Bare Trees, a spry old lady offers these poetic Thoughts On A Grey Day Thank my God For perfect love and peace I'll hold her tight And always Mine forever Love, love So great So divine Trees - the grey day has changed everything It's beautiful, just beautiful So beautiful this first grey day is ours My loving child By grace of God we live, my child, And love I crawl to my knees, my dear love Will you promise to kiss My perfect healing hands And fingers And make a promise to me you will always obey My each command and never, ever fail me You'll be mine forevermore The sun is here My love My love My sun Our sun complete. God bless our perfect, perfect grey day With trees so bare, so bare! But O so beautiful, so beautiful! The grey and blue sky The world is here Ours, just, justing, just ours Our own Hold us tight I am yours, just a dream And go on dreaming May this joy of ours Never ever cease My love, my love Pregnant sweet Love is tender

bazooka
"This following program is dedicated to the city and people of San Francisco, who may not know it, but they are beautiful, and so is their city. This is a very personal song, so if the viewer cannot understand it, particularly those of you who are European residents, save up all your bread and fly Translove Airways to San Francisco, USA, then maybe you´ll understand the song, it will be worth it, if not for the sake of this song, but for the sake of your own peace of mind" Eric Burdon talking in the intro to San Fransiscan Nights. You get the impression it was meant to be on a video. Who sang about Translove Airwaves?? That was Donovan in his song The Fat Angel He will bring happiness in a pipe, He'll ride away on his silver bike And apart from that he'll be so kind In consenting to blow your mind. Fly Translove Airways, get you there on time. Fly Translove Airways, get you there on time. He switches to 'Fly Jefferson Airplane ' for one chorus. edna
I never realised it was Donovan´s... I always thought it was a Jefferson Airplane song (from the live album "Bless its pointed little head")...

Peace Frog
Horse Latitudes by The Doors There is also an excellent spoken part in The End. And what would a list of songs with spoken parts be without The Beatles' Revolution 9? A nine-minute intrumental with random voices- what more would you ask for. And a few songs on Porcupine Tree's Signify have spoken parts: Intermediate Jesus, Bornlivedie, Signify, Idiot Prayer and Dark Matter. at the end of Dark Matter: "You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks. All those childhood traumas, magically wiped away, along with most of your personality!" Although I doubt anyone is very familiar with Porcupine Tree

Skuff
I recall there was a spoken portion of a Beatles song (other than Yellow Submarine's ambience-like accoutrements) when Paul says, "You know my name, just dial up my number ..." or soemthing to that effect. Don't remember the name of the song. Believe it was on the White album. Ooh, ooh, ooh. That song IS TITLED "You know My Name, Look Up the Number and was relaesed on the B-side of the "Let It Be" single in 1970, and was released again on Past Masters, Volume 2. edna
Could it be the first lines of "Rocky Raccoon"? Rose
Ha ha ha, I think song's with spoken parts can be pretty cheesy sometimes. I find myself switching the song just because spoken parts are TOO much for me... Like the spoken part in "I'll Be True to You (Yes I Will) by The Monkees. It's SO terrible. But luckily, it's not too long. "I'll be true to you, yes I will. Every dream that you have, I'll fullfill". Just can't help but laughing sometimes... AerosmithFan365
This probably hasn't been mentioned yet, but the 3deep song "Into You" has a speaking part, spoke by band member/actor Eddie Cibrian: "Baby tonight, before I look in your eyes, your love felt just right. You're everything my world has been. Now open up your heart...and let me in." I think it personally works for the song and it's a nice lead-in to the chorus.
